Davao City since 1960s targets sigatoka, a fungus that attacks the
leaves of banana plants and causes premature aging of fruits
mixture sprayed usually composed of pesticide, water, the oil or sticker and emulsifier

Mothers run fast to get hanged laundry and
secure them inside the house once they hear
spray planes coming. If not, they would have to
wash the laundry again to spare the family from feeling itchy all over.
Crops around banana plantations often get destroyed. Coconut farmers in Davao experienced up to 90% loss of harvest after the
trees were constantly hit by aerial spray planes. Marang trees also died. The Davao City government and the Philippine Coconut
Authority both say coconut trees around banana plantations are prone to dying.
