I’m Isabeldesigner
Welcome to my personal porfolio
Hello, is it me you’re looking for?
My name is Isabel de Andres and by using the first letters of my name, I created idean. Idean is a plat-form where I want to show my profile and my achievements.
Originally from a small town in the middle of Spain, I grew up loving more than one thing at a time. Then I discovered the vast world of Design and its potentials. I felt like I finally got something to dive into and focus on in depth.
As a person who uses the creativity and novelty as a tool that efficiently solve problems, I feel certainly comfortable joining project that build new things and communicate new concepts.
I admire the hidden complexity of simple things. I always try to keep thing simple, it is one of my aims when I work.
Having worked during the last years within diverse working sectors including different perspectives, I have realized about what is actually important and what I really enjoy: (industrial) Design fully-coupled with state-of-the art design-based software.
New experiences and challenges are my thing.
WHO I AM
I would consider myself as a hard-worker, a problem solver and a team-player. I enjoy working with multidisciplinary teams; different ideas and diversity are great drivers of the creativity process.
Facing up any project, I’ve tried to follow the same path always:
• Having a problem to solve or a new project to start, everything should start from a thorough research process, together with a bit of brainstorming before the main idea is defined.
• With the drafted concept in mind, the design phase starts and the first versions come up.
• The final idea must be sharpened.
• But the project never ends until it is released.

WHAT I DID
Designing a self-driving car: SEAT caelos
Final project presented at the end of my Bachelor (2010-2011) in collaboration with SEAT, Volkswagen Group’s parent organization. The company offered us the opportunity to create a self-driving car from scratch, shaping both the exterior and the interior elements.
Due to the fact that the car should provide driverless technology, new spaces and concepts have to be created, with novel capabilities never explored be-fore. The initial idea was to design a car characterized by a relaxing atmosphere, where the users, who live in crowded cities, feel themselves immersed in a as safe and charming area as their own home. The challenge was to keep passengers also connected to out-of-doors.

WHAT I DID
UX interface design/Graphic design/ Visual design
CHALLENGE
Cashmaster is a leading, global manufacturer of count-by-weight (CBW) cash management solutions. Working with their new product range, Cashmaster One, and its three different versions I have coordinated the User Experience, User Interface design and visual (graphic) design.
Cashmaster One is a count-by-weight device based on a fresh smartphone style touch-screen and an eye-catching colour display.
As UX designer, I explored different approaches in order to solve specific user problems, making sure the user never gets stuck and all the windows are crystal clear and well-defined. I worked on a logical flow from window to window, starting from the initial menu up to the system settings.
As UI designer, my main goal was to make user’s life easier. I have been responsible of keeping a consistent style and terminology across the product, maintaining uniformity in visual elements and defining procedures such as an error display or warning messages.
As a visual designer, I have been taken care of the aesthetics and the details, focusing on eye-catching icons, controls, and visual elements and making use of suitable typography.
chesiagrafic & packaging design
CHALLENGE
Thesis presented in the International trade master (ESIC Business and Marketing School), in close collaboration with the chamber of commerce of Segovia. The project included a thorough viability study of Spanish goat cheese exportation to the US.
CUSTOMER Chamber of Commerce of Segovia, Spain WHAT I DID Exportation viability of goat cheese to the US
CHALLENGE
The final price in the American market is quite expensive due to transport fees, the custom barriers and the production costs. That’s why a cheese of such a high quality has become a highly demanded delicatessen product. In this context, we decided to create a packaging box in order to increase the product value.
The boxes were created with black, gold and warm greyish colours. With clean and simple lines, the logo reminds us a goat the logo reminds us a goat. The proposed outlook catchs the costumer’s attention. The intention was to offer the goat cheese as a sense’s gift, inviting the enjoyment of this delicacy.

CUSTOMER University of A Cournha WHAT I DID Corporative Identity of a Design Company
CHALLENGE
KARIBU, which means welcome in Swahili, is the message that we want to transmit to our clients, a warm wel-come to the design as such. The logo keeps geometric lines and the overall set up of the design includes warm colours. Some items such as coat rack or flash memories were designed to create a cosy environment. These elements give identity to the working area and help the office to differen-tiate its appearance from other cold and bored offices.
Graphic design project, University of A Coruña. It was given to us the task to build up a complete corporative of a fictitious design company. This exer-cise includes the brand name, all the graphics elements as well as its mer-chandising.
polypropylene totemproduct design
CHALLENGE
Design of elements for a digital marketing campaign promoted by IMM Network Spain. We have developed interactive points of information integrated in the vending area. This allow to support the decision making at any shop about any product.
The frame, made of polypropylene and aluminium, integrates a 16 inches screen powered by a PC running a home-made software. (name of the software) recognizes the age and gender of the costumer, thus the program is able to retrieve information targeted to the specific profile chosen.
Several contour lines are highlighted with eye-catching blue LED lights which, together with the material properties, create an icy sensation. The back and standing part of the element include polished aluminium details.
The totem can be personalized for different company by including the brand logo at the top of the frame. This can be achieved with a standard vinyl or a metal-cut print right over the polypropylene surface.

In this case the company desired an adjustable element in order to improve the versatility. The totem provides the option to the costumer to place the element either vertically or horizontally, according to their needs.
For this purpose we have designed a mechanism that holds a heavy 46 inches screen and, at the same time, it is attached to a rotary element which can be easily flipped by the user. In the right and in the top part there is a space for logo of the com-pany advertised. It does not matter if the screen’s orientation, the customer will be able to see the logo in the right position.
Supporting the interactive point of information, the structure has been imple-mented in such a way that a magazine rack was included in the lower part. The company can thereby provide flyers or any relevant information to the clients interested.

cansporter
Casnporter was part of a course project presented in the University of A Coruña. The goal was to create a new product in a particular market, focused on pets. After a thorough research of available products, we have realised that there was lack in pet transportation. We missed product to transport medium-to-large size dogs.
Consequently we created the CANS-PORTER, a transportation box designed only for dogs that can be used in air-ports, train or bus stations or even when the animal is not able to walk due to ill-ness.
Our research showed that the market only provides ugly and cold jail boxes. Therefore this project had two clear pri-orities for us: (1) the animal’s comfort and (2) the element’s functionality. From these two concepts we created a comfy and safe-looking space using fabric and warm materials. Moreover, Cansporter can be readily disassembled which facil-itates the whole structure’s packing. This project also included a viability of pro-duction’s study, including all the expec-ted cost and a suggested final price for the product.

speaker outdoor
CHALLENGE
Output created in the “Design and Product” course (University of A Coruña). SXF created a state of the art speaker which, in contact with any material, increases the bass notably. This system incorporates a special gel that can be stick firmly to any surface. SXF expected from us a brand new cover design. OUTDOOR has a robust design but with a slim size that can fit in a single hand. With rounded shapes, the speaker has plenty of inter-changeable covers with different colours and patterns, thus the speaker can be customized based on costumer’s taste
