Ater opening the 2013 season with two straight home games, the Idaho State ootball team
travels to No. 17/20 Washington on Saturday, Sept. 21. Kicko is set or 1 p.m. (MST) and the game
will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network with Kevin Calabro (Play-by-play), Yogi Ruth (analyst)
and Jill Savage (sideline) proving the commentary. Jerry Miller and Tim Lewis will carry the action
live on Rock 102.5 and 930 CBS Sports Radio. The pregame radio show begins at 12 p.m. (MST).

TAllYinG Up ThE YARDS
Justin Arias has thrown or over 400 yards in his rst two games as the starting quarterback. Arias
threw or ninth most yards in program history vs. Dixie St with 439. He had 429 vs. Western State,
the 10th most in program history. Through two games he has passed or 868 yards and our
touchdowns with a completion percentage o 66.3. He has completed 65 passes on 98 attempts
with one interception.
ThRowinG oR ovER 400
There have been 15 times an Idaho State quarterback has thrown or over 400 yards in a game.
Five o those instances has happened since Mike Kramer has been head coach. Along with Arias
two perormances to start the 2013 season, Kevin Yost had games o 529, 508 and 448 passing
yards in 2011 and 2012. The school record or most passing yards in a game is 589 by Vern Harris
at Montana in 1985.
CliMbinG ThE win lADDER
With the 2-0 start, Idaho State coach Mike Kramer has 82 overall wins in his coaching career and
sits in ourth place on the Big Sky Conerence all-time victories list. NAU coach Jerome Souers is
third on the list with 84. Kramer is tied or third or most Big Sky Conerence wins with 54. Souers
is second that list with 55.
bEnGAlS AGAinST bS opponEnTS
Idaho State plays at Washington and BYU this year. The last time Idaho State deeated an FBS
opponent was a 27-24 victory at Utah State in 2000. Since that victory, ISU is 0-18 against FBS
teams. Since 2008, the FBS opponents Idaho State has aced are; Air Force, Nebraska, BYU,
Washington State, Utah State, Georgia, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Boise State and Idaho.
REYES DoES iT All
CJ Reyes is the starting punter, punt returner and the back up quarterback or the Bengals.
Reyes has punted seven times this year or an average o 39.7 yards a kick with a season-long
punt o 46-yards. He has returned one punt or our yards. He has yet to see time at quarterback
although in 2012 he completed 21 passes on 33 attempts or 177 yards and one touchdown. His
touchdown came on a 28-yard strike to Luke Austin at Nebraska.

One o the most successul coaches in Big Sky ootball
history is now an Idaho State Bengal. Mike Kramer was
hired to be the Bengals 25th head coach in program
history on Nov. 22, 2010. Since being given the charge
to rebuild the Bengal ootball program, ISU has madegreat strides on the feld, in the classroom and in the
community.
The ootball program recorded a perect single-year APR
score o 1,000 or the 2011-12 academic year. In the all
o 2012 a record 20 players were named to the Big Sky
All-Academic team, breaking the record o 17 that was
set by Kramers 2011 team.
In the all o 2011, the team had a GPA o 3.04 and
51 out o the 80 student-athletes had a 3.0 or higher.
Those numbers were topped in the spring when the
ootball team had a team GPA o 3.16 and had 53 o 79
student-athletes earn a 3.0 or higher. Since the summer
o 2012 the Bengal ootball program has graduated a
record 27 players.
In the community, the Bengals spent the spr ing doing
over 1,000 hours o community service in the Pocatello
and Chubbuck communities. The team participated in
canned ood and recycle drives, clothing drives, ed the
homeless and bagged groceries at a local super market.
In Kramers frst two seasons, the Bengal oense has set
numerous Big Sky and Idaho State single-season record.
In 2011 the Bengal oense set numerous single-season
and single-game oensive records led by the play o Ro-
drick Rumble and Kevin Yost. Rumble broke the Big Sky
and Bengal ootball single-season record or receptions
with 112 and he had the third most receiving yards in
Bengal history with 218 at Washington State. Rumble,A.J. Storms and punter David Harrington all earned var-
ious All-American honors at the conclusion o the 2011
season and oensive lineman Braeden Clayson signed a
ree agent contract with the Arizona Cardinals.
The 2012 season saw Rumble became the ISU all-time
leader in receptions and receiving yards and he signed
a ree-agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts. Tight
End Josh Hill signed a ree-agent contract with the New
Orleans Saints and the oense set a Big Sky record or
completions and attempts.
Kramers has previously been the head coach at ellow
Big Sky Conerence schools, Eastern Washington and
Montana State.
He is one o only fve coaches in Big Sky history be
named Big Sky Coach o the Year three times, twice while
at Montana State and once at Eastern Washington. He
has 80 career wins, 54 o which came in league play,
ranks ourth all-time in conerence history. He is the only
coach to win Big Sky Coach o the Year honors at two
dierent schools. His 54 Big Sky wins ranks tied or third
with Don Read (Montana).
GARCiA o To hoT START
Idaho State kicker Brendon Garcia is a perect 7-or-7 on eld goals in the rst two
games. Against Western State he tied his career-long with a 50-yard eld goal in the
ourth quarter. The 50-yarder ties Grifn Thomas o Jacksonville State or the longest
eld goal made in the FCS this season. Garcia also had two 50-yarders as a reshman
in 2010. Garcia was 6-12 rom eld goals in 2012. Garcia has been named the Big Sky
Conerence Special Teams Player o the Week or back-to-back weeks.

Since taking over as head coach o the Bengal ootball program in November o 2010,
the Idaho State ootball program has turned into one o the top academic programs in
the country as the team boasted a perect 1,000 APR score or the 2011-12 school year.
Kramer has graduated 54 players since being named head coach and he currently has
eight players on the team who have already earned their degree in Justin Arias, Jake
Pele, Jon Davidson, Tanner Davis, Cameron Gupton, Cameron Richmond, James Bergren
and Kimo Makaula. ISU ootball also had a record 20 student-athletes earned Academic
All-Big Sky Conerence honors in 2012.

Idaho State wide receiver Cameron Richmond has had a career-high in receptions and
receiving yards or two straight weeks. In the win over Dixie State, Richmond had a
career-high 149 receiving yards on nine receptions. A week later he tied his career-high
in receptions with 12 and set his career-mark in receiving yards with 152. He also scored
his rst touchdown o the season in the 29-3 win over Western State.

Through the rst two games, the Idaho State deense has 10 sacks, topping the mark o
nine the team had 2012. In 2011, ISU had 15 sacks and in 2010 the team had 16.
bEnGAlS AMonG CS nCAA STAT lEADERS
The Idaho State oense ranks 4th in total oense (552.5), rst in passing (434), ourth
in total deense (261.5) and rst in scoring deense (8.5). Justin Arias 466 total yards
o oense vs. Dixie State is the th best mark by an FCS individual to date and his 36
completions vs. Western State is the second most completions by an FCS quarterback in
2013.

Cameron Richmond and Luke Austin nished the 2012 season with 112 catches or
1,350 yards and 12 touchdowns. The two combined or 16 catches or 268 yards and
one touchdown last week against Dixie State. Richmond had a then-career-high 149
receiving yards on nine receptions and Austin caught seven passes or 119 yards and one
touchdown.

RECAppinG 2012
The Idaho State ootball team nished the 2012 season 1-10 and 0-8 in Big Sky
Conerence play. Rodrick Rumble earned rst-team all-conerence while tight end Josh
Hill earned second-team accolades. Hill was also named Third-Team AP All-American. The
Idaho State oense averaged 20.7 points a game, 351.5 yards o passing oense a game
and had 4,378 total yards. Kevin Yost completed a school and Big Sky Conerence record
349 passes on 553 attempts. The deense gave up 53.8 points a game.
RETURninG RECEivinG
The returning corp o receivers in 2013 combined to catch 184 passes or 1,881 yards and
13 touchdowns. Cameron Richmond leads the way with 67 receptions or 739 yards and
our touchdowns in 2012 while Luke Austin caught 46 passes or 611 yards and a team-
best eight touchdowns. Aaron Prier was the other Bengal to catch a touchdown pass. As
a sophomore he caught 27 passes or 199 yards.
CoAChinG STA ChAnGES
Following the 2012 season, changes were made on the Idaho State ootball coaching
sta. Don Bailey, remains the only coach who will coach the same position in 2013 as
he is the oensive coordinator and the quarterbacks coach. Returning coaches Matt
Troxel is now coaching the oensive line and Roger Cooper was named the Co-Deensive
Coordinator and he will coach the inside linebackers. New to the coaching sta is Spencer
Toone (Co-Deensive Coordinator and outside linebackers coach), Steve Fita (deensive
line), Stanley Franks (secondary), Sheldon Cross (outside wide receivers) and Mike Ferriter
(inside wide receivers coach).
Top TACklERS
The Idaho State deense returns its top our tacklers rom the 2012 season. Leading the
way is senior linebacker Trevor Spence, who earned honorable mention all-conerence
in 2012 with a team-best 90 tackles, three sacks, six tackles or loss and one interception.
Spence also earned Preseason All-Big Sky Conerence honors. Freshman Taison Manu and
Mitch Beckstead were tied with 77 tackles and Cameron Gupton had 68 tackles. Manu
earned reshman All-American honors.
YoUThUl bEnGAlS
The Bengals once again boast a young team with 28 reshmen or redshirt reshmen and
24 sophomores. There are only 10 seniors on the team and 20 juniors.

For only the ourth time since 2002, the Idaho State ootball team will play a six-game
home schedule. ISU played six home games in 2002, 2003 and 2007.

The last time Idaho State deeated a ranked opponent was a 34-30 victory over No. 5 Eastern Washington on Sept. 24, 2005. Since then, the
Bengals have lost their last 21 games to a ranked team.

Since 2004, the Bengals have played in ront o large crowds at various FBS schools around the country. In 2010, ISU played in ront o a record
crowd o 92,746 at Georgia. The second largest crowd the Bengals played in ront o was at Nebraska (84,923). At Oklahoma ISU played in ronto 84,749. Against BYU, in 2011, the Bengals played in ront o a crowd o 60,043. ISU played in ront o 59,519 at Kentucky in 2005 and 57,216
