Direction of the MLPSI

•MLPSI since 2000

•Language Policy – current work of DES and Council of

Europe

•Modern Languages – position in the Language

section of the revised primary curriculum

Aims of the MLPSI

1. Introduce modern languages at primary level2. Create a positive attitude towards language

learning3. Include a variety of schools 4. Facilitate and support diversification 5. Create links between primary & post-primary
