In this project, we have to work in group of two people and find a specific

empty land with an expanse of 900m2 - 1200m2. We have to initiate a small

construction project at the chosen area.

To accomplish this project, we have to study about the building development

which include, the suggestion, rationale, benefits and the impacts of our project to

the client and the surrounding community and the end user.

We should propose one project that serves one of the following purpose;

recreation area, commercial area, industrial area, agriculture area, tourism area,

and residential area. For our group, we chose to propose a project on recreation

area.

Our 30m x 30m site is located at Taman Klang Jaya. The site is located along

This is a low-rise residential development built on freehold land.

After doing the research, I decided to propose a project on recreation area.

I decided to develop a recreation area because from my observation, there is no

recreation area around that place. I realized that people will need a placed for

them to play together, exercising and resting while spending their time with nature.

This site will be the most suitable site as it is located near with the forest.

My recreation will consist of three spaces which is playing area, resting

area and exercising area. As the site is located near to residential area, playing

area is a must for the children to play. Exercising area is provided to encourage

the residents to practice a healthy life style.

My aim is to change this unused empty land to a friendly and relaxing area

for everyone to used. It will be built in combination of soft scape and hardscape,

integrating as much natural element as possible by simultaneously introducing

new, non-interfering yet beneficial structure, resulting in the creation of a natural

and useful landscape to have recreation activity

My design will be on closeness to bring people together in unity with nature

elements. People will be drawn together by the planning that encourages and

allows closure and fellowship.

This design will brings people into friendly environment. As the site is beside

the forest, it will be good environment for the user especially for those who doing

exercising as the forest will provided them with sufficient oxygen. The planning

also make them close to one another. It allows people to get together to have a

close, meaningful relationship with each other while still having their own privacy.

They can have friends meeting, a stress-relieving retreat and play together. For

some people, it is a place for them to have a little time to break from busy

schedule.

Page 12: Ici

The surrounding residential neighborhoods are stable with well-maintained

homes. Recreation area will provide a activity hub for people from all ages. As the

existing recreation area is far from the site area, a nearer new recreation area is

needed by the residents who live around the site. The recreation area will be a

public area that can be used by everyone and anytime. Moreover, the site that

surrounded by trees give peaceful feeling to the users. The values provided by a

functioning recreation area include, but are not limited to:

- Strengthening the “sense of community”.

- Effective use of recreation’s property for the benefit of the

community

- Improvement in health

The recreation area is an open space where everyone can enter any time.

So it will be dangerous for kids who came without their guardian. This because

cases like kidnapping can happen as the no guard to petrol the area. Moreover,

the site is quite hidden from people’s view.

Besides that, poisonous animals like snake can enter the site as the site is

located near the forest.

SUGGESTION & PROPOSAL

Based on the site analysis and observation that my partner and I had

carried, I, Nur Azreen Binti Samiu, would like to propose a recreation area since

there is no any recreation area yet nearby our site that we chose.

a. Why do I propose a recreation area?

Taman Klang Jaya has only a small field.

Lack of outdoor equipments.

So that people that live in Taman Klang Jaya can do outdoor and recreational

activities near with their housing area.

b. What are the benefits of proposing a recreation area?

Taman Klang Jaya's residents can have a good time with family and friends.

Develop healthy lifestyles, strong minds and fit bodies among the society.

A suitable place to relax and release tension.

Might cause some noises during the construction phase.

Reduce the green environment.
