WATER USAGE ASSUMPTIONS
Assumptions: If half of the 2,330,000 videos resulted in participants dumping water, with an estimated one gallon of water, that would result in 1,165,000 gallons used.
The average Olympic size pool is 660,000 gallons, so 1.7 Olympic pools were used in the challenge.
The average American uses at least 80 gallons of water per day, so an estimated 14,562 days, or 39 years of a single person’s water consumption was used.
