Lasting reliability
I f we need to protect ourselves fromthe cold, we simply put on another lay-er. I f , however, we want to keep out theheat, ›we are l ike babes in the wood‹,or we would be without properly func-tioning distr ict cool ing pipes.
Perfect thermal insulation inside thepipe system is key to perfect cool ing inhot environments. Only the best andmost tr ied materials accomplish thisdiff icult task on a long-term basis. Onesuch insulation material is made ofpolyurethane by Elastogran. Day in dayout i t remains cool for decades tocome, ensuring pleasantly cool watereven for the most remote end-user.
Excellent insulation values
With its unbeaten thermal conductivityvalue of 0.022 W/(m*K), the compre-hensive portfol io of Elastogran’s pipeinsulation material Elastopor H has
made a name for i tself al l over theworld. From Greenland to Cape Horn,PU insulation made by Elastogran hasbeen f ield tested on al l continents: fordistr ict cool ing, distr ict heating and oi lpipel ines.
Elastogran
Around the globe, pipe insulation manufacturers appreciate the rel iabi l i tyand quality associated with Elastogranand its products.
As long as their customers cannotoverheat, pipe manufacturers can alsokeep their cool. The solution is simple:only use the best insulation materialsavai lable, best of al l , use Elastopor Hby Elastogran.

Spray foam is the measure of al lthings. For perfect thermal insulationmanufacturing in the continuous sprayprocess – using microcellular foam. Afurther advantage: the enormous f lexi-bi l i ty during the production of differentand, particularly, large pipe dimensions.
Pipes manufactured in the continuousspray process can be employed in al lareas of application, such as distr ictcool ing and heating, oi l pipel ines andindustrial applications.
The systems of the Elastopor H port-fol io are part icularly suited for the continuous spray process. Every tonneof Elastopor H is the result of over adecade of Elastogran’s expert ise ofcustomised system solutions, tai lor-made to meet the requirements of ourcl ients. Our maxime: ›We keep on goingunti l things f low smoothly‹. – Elas-togran has been successful ly supplyingits satisf ied customers with materialfor their conti spray plants for years.

A typical mixinghead for the manu-facture of micro-cellular PU foams
The tradit ional PIP-One-Shot pro-cessing method is ideal for therel iable manufacture of pipes ofvarying dimensions. Withoutgreat changes to the production
process, PIP enables the pro-duction of pipes with bothvery small to very large di-ameters to be produced.
Production using the PIPmethod is also ideal for ther-
mal insulation – thanks to itsmicrocellular foam and a wide range ofblowing agents.
Pipes manufactured by means of thePIP-One-Shot method can be used inal l areas of applications, such as dis-tr ict cool ing/heating, oi l pipel ines andindustrial applications. The systems ofthe Elastopor H portfol io can also beused for the discontinuous PIP process.Elastogran has been supplying Elasto-por H for over 30 years, always keepingahead of developments by expandingits portfol io with innovative develop-ments and new patents. This has putthe materials among the product lead-ers of their kind.

This is how the processworks: the foaming plantcarries the liquid foam to a foil which is drawnthrough the pipe-shapedcaterpillar together withthe medium pipe. Then apolyethyene coat is extruded onto the pipe. Finally, it is cooled andcut to size.
The production of Contiflex pipes (Caterpillar-Process)
Coiled up Contiflex pipes for the United Arab Emirates
Flexible pipes are the crème de lacrème of pipe systems because theycan be bent and adapted to the topography of their surroundings. Thisway, obstacles can easi ly be bypassedand targets reached without having todetour. Not only does this look good –it also considerably reduces pipe layingcosts. The jacket foam medium pipeswith these advantages contain the materials: copper, steel and PEX(cross-l inked polyethylene).
Pipes manufactured and pre-insulatedin the caterpi l lar process stand out due to their highly microcellular foam and low thermal conductivity(0.023 W/(m*K). Elastogran has mastered the f ine art of reconcil ing the two ›souls‹ of PU foam for f lexiblepipes with Elastopor H.
It is r igid enough to withstand strainyet f lexible enough to enable pipes tobe bent.
