ICCO (Interkerkelijke Coördinae Commissie Ontwikkelingshulp) was established by Protestant churches and organizaons ICCO and starts with small a subsidy from the Dutch government. ICCO signs a contract with a Philippine partner. Second form leſt is Jone Bos, ICCO’s first secretary. In 1970, ICCO becomes an independent foundaon. The start-up capital is 100 florins. The support of the Dutch government to ICCO increases rapidly. Relaons are extended to organizaons outside the tradional church networks. In 1980 ICCO moves from Utrecht to Zeist. 1990 1995 Cooperaon is started with private companies. MFOs start an extensive impact study and realize that good intenons do not automacally mean good results. The mission statement is reformulated: “Working in a world without poverty and injusce”. ICCO wants to make civil society organizaons less dependent on Western donors. 2000 2005 An alliance with Edukans, Kerk in Ace, Oikocredit, Prisma, Share People and ICCO is established. ICCO and Kerk in Ace put together their internaonal program. ICCO connects again with churches and church-related organizaons. Dienst over Grenzen (cross-border services) and the Schng Oecumenische Hulp (the laer parally) merge with ICCO. 2010 2012 2015 Between 2007 and 2010 seven Regional Offices in Africa, Asia and Lan America are opened. They get support from Regional Councils, consisng of independent experts, that carry co-responsibility in the policy and strategy of ICCO. The cooperave is founded from the ICCO Alliance, a unique construcon in the development sector in the Netherlands. Its members are coPrisma, Kerk in Ace, and Edukans. ICCO Cooperaon celebrates its 50th anniversary. The co-financing program with the government has ended. Funding comes from diverse sources. Cooperaon with the ACT Alliance and European sister organizaons intensifies. 2008 Fair & Sustainable Holding B.V. is established, a 100% subsidiary of ICCO. FairClimateFund B.V. and F&S Advisory Services B.V. are part of this structure. In 2014 ICCO Investments B.V. joins the F&S Holding. And in 2015 Business Booster B.V.
