BECAUSE EVERYONE SHOULD ATTEND A CITIZENSHIP CEREMONY.

BUILDING CITIZENSHIP Citizenship ceremonies are powerful, authentic and emotional. With a growing national network of committed volunteers and community partners, we welcome more than 4,000 new citizens each year through our unique enhanced citizenship ceremonies.

ICC ceremonies are anchored by our signature roundtable sessions – opportunities for connections where new citizens, guests and community members share stories of their journeys and their hopes and aspirations for Canada.

We actively share these findings with media, civil society, academia, government and anyone else interested in making Canada more inclusive. Our research allows us to make recommendations for change.

BECAUSE CULTURE IS A PORTAL INTO BELONGING.

CULTURAL ACCESS PASS (CAP)CAP gives new citizens the opportunity to experience more than 1,200 of Canada’s premier cultural attractions for free during their first year of citizenship. From museums and galleries to science centres and national parks, CAP opens doors to new citizens across Canada and encourages them to take ownership of our shared heritage through history, art, culture and nature.

CAP CONNECTIONS This initiative strengthens critical professional, social and community networks, offering new citizens the tools for success.

BECAUSE FRESH LANGUAGE CREATES FRESH THINKING.

6 DEGREESStarting in September 2016, Toronto will be home to 6 Degrees, a global idea platform focused on inclusion andcitizenship in the 21st century. Anchoredby four ‘Exchanges’ – dynamic sessionsthat frame, exchange and reframethe essential challenges of our time –this annual event will transform thinking and inspire tangible results.

ICC INSIGHTS Tapping into our expanding network of more than 190,000 new citizens from the CAP program, we ask about practical, real-life concerns and generate insights into the experience of becoming Canadian.

♥What matters most to new citizens?

What makes them feel included enough to become active citizens?

What are the existing barriers to inclusion and how can we help remove them?

INCLUSION INDEX The ICC’s inclusion index is a digital project that measures the extent to which new Canadians feel included in Canadian society through a number of economic, political and social/cultural indicators.

It’s time to explore and advance the Canadian model of inclusion. It’s time for 6 Degrees.

BECAUSE INCLUSION IS A PROCESS.

WHY SUPPORT THE ICC BECAUSE WE ALL HAVE A STAKE IN THE VALUE OF CANADA.

Because the story we are telling is your story too. Because you believe that active citizenship, whether personal or corporate, is essential to our collective success.

Because you want to be part of an organization whose supporters have always been its advisors and friends. Because you want all citizens to share in Canada’s bounty, now and for future generations.

The ICC was co-founded in 2006 by the Rt. Hon. Adrienne Clarkson, the first refugee Governor General of Canada, and John Ralston Saul, award-winning

essayist and novelist, to welcome new Canadian citizens and foster active citizenship for all Canadians, regardless of whether their family has been here

for five years, five generations or since before the first settlers arrived.

The ICC relies on the generosity of individual, corporate and foundation donors, along with the Government of Canada, to support its programs.
