Day 1Introduction to various types of Boilers. Need for the regulation & certification of Boilers.Introduction to various types of materials used for construction of boilers. Their properties & Selection.Introduction to various types of Welding processes, welders qualification, welding defects. Various types of Heat Treatment Processes.Introduction to various Destructive & Non Destructive testing ( RT,UT,PT,MT ) used during boiler fabrication.

Day 2Review of material test certificates & Identification of the materials of construction for Plates & Pipes.Review of material test certificates & Identification of Pipe fittings, Headers and all other material used for pressure parts.Detailed discussions on Parameters of various types of Welding processes & control of welding activities.Qualification tests for Welders engaged in Welding of Boilers under construction, fabrication and erection of IBR Boilers

Day 3Manufacturing of Fusion welded and Water tube Boilers. Manufacturing of seamless forged drums and Superheaters. Detailed discussion on Heat treatment of boiler components.

Various testing requirements for High Pressure Water tube Boilers.Detailed discussion on Mechanical tests, selection of test pieces, Tensile and Bend tests, and other NDT test requirements

Day 4Familiarization of IBR fabrication requirements of Boiler drum and Pressure parts. Familiarization of IBR fabrication requirements of Economizers, Super-heaters, Re-heaters, Pre-heaters, etc.

Familiarization of IBR fabrication requirements bought-out items, boiler mountings and fitting such as Pumps, Stop Valves, Safety Valves.IBR Requirements for Specific purchase / fabrication requirements for auxiliaries and its accessories

Day 5Identify the scope of requirement for Third Party Inspection (TPI) as per IBR.Appraise the reporting requirements as per IBR and to suggest acceptable IBR format. Various IBR forms for Boilers, Economizers and Superheaters

Appraisal of list of Well-known Steel makers. Appraisal of list of Competent Authorities recognized by Central Boiler Board, India.Discussion & appraisal.
