Section 1: Installation of TSM Client

1.1 System Requirements/Prerequisites for TSM client Installation.

1.2 Installing Tivoli Storage Manager API and BA client on Windows.

The Tivoli Storage Manager backup-archive client helps you protect informationon your workstations.You can maintain backup versions of your files that you can restore if the originalfiles are damaged or lost. You can also archive files that you do not currentlyneed, preserve them in their current state, and retrieve them when necessary.The Tivoli Storage Manager clients work in conjunction with the Tivoli StorageManager server

You can install Tivoli Storage Manager Client in one of the following ways:

1. Install Tivoli Storage Manager client on a workstation where the FastBackserver is installed. In this case, the prerequisites are: the FastBack server,the FastBack shell, and the FastBack mount.

2. Install Tivoli Storage Manager client on a workstation where the FastBackDR Hub is installed. In this case, the prerequisites are: the FastBackDisaster Recovery Hub setup, the FastBack shell, and the FastBackmount.

3. Install Tivoli Storage Manager client on a workstation where neither thefastBack server or the FastBack Disaster Recovery Hub is installed. In thiscase, ensure that the FastBack shell and the FastBack mount areinstalled.

You can install the Tivoli Storage Manager Windows client from the product DVD,or from other installation media.

You can install the backup-archive clients on the following Windows platforms:1. Windows XP2. Windows Vista3. Windows 74. Windows Server 20035. Windows Server 2003 R26. Windows Server 2008

Follow these steps to install the software on your Windows system.

1. Double clicks on the setup file .Selected English as DemonstrationLanguage and click on ok.

2. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.Click on Tsm Backup-archive.

3. Select the location where you want to do the installation.

4. Select the Installation setup types:

There are two setup types:1. Typical installs the minimum necessary to provide normal backup and

archive functions..

After selecting the component click on next.

6. Installation will stat,After a successful installation you will get the followingpage. Click on finish.

Backup Archive Client and API installation completed.

NOTE:

1. The Backup-Archive Client, the API, and the Web Client are interdependent. Ifyou select the Backup-Archive Client, you must also select the API. Similarly, ifyou select the Web client, you must also select the Backup-Archive Client andthe API.

2. The Backup-Archive Client component includes the client scheduler files.

3. The installer displays the exact amount of disk space that is required for eachprogram feature. Ensure that there is enough disk space on the destination drivefor the files you choose to install. The installation program will not install to adestination drive with insufficient disk space.

4. If you do not have a dsm.opt file, a setup wizard is launched automaticallywhen you start the GUI. The setup wizard can help you configure an initialoptions file.

1.3 Installing Tivoli Storage Manager API and BA client on Linux.

Login through root user and install the following package.1. TIVsm-API.i386.rpm2. TIVsm-API64.i386.rpm3. TIVsm-BA.i386.rpm4. TIVsm-HSM.i386.rpm

5. gskcrypt32-8.0.13.3.linux.x86.rpm6. gskcrypt64-8.0.13.3.linux.x86_64.rpm7. gskssl32-8.0.13.3.linux.x86.rpm8. gskssl64-8.0.13.3.linux.x86_64.rpm9.jdk-6u26-linux-x64-rpm.bin

(note: java version must be 1.5 or above)

Installation of Backup archive client and API has completed successful.

Section 2: Installation of TDP

2.1 Installation of TDP for SQL.

For installation of TDP for SQL use the following step.

1. Double click on setup.exe file.

Select the language and click on ok.

2. Select the license agreement and click on Next.

3. Select the location where you want to do the installation of TDP for SQL and click on

Next.(Note:-Select the location where you have install BA client)

4. After successful installation click on Finish

Installation of TDP for SQL has been completed.

2.2 Installing of TDP for Oracle

To install TDP for Oracle use the following step.

1. Login through root user and go to the directory where you have the setupfile and run the following command.

#./setup file name -I gui

2. Installation process starts select the language and click on ok.

3. Click on next.

4. Select the license agreement and click on next.

5. A Pre-Installation summary page appears click on install to start theinstallation.

6. After successful installation click on done .

Installation of TDP oracle completed successfully.
