#. I had SQL SMS on +6+ dis-* so there !as nothing to do but insert the

+6+ and !ait !elcome !indo!. 7hoose Installation.

&. 8ou should have valid product -ey to proceed* type it into -ey bar and

clic- *ext.

(. Accept the license terms and go *ext.



9. Setup support :les by pressing Install button. These :les are needed for

further installation.

0. 7hoose SQ Ser!er -eature Installation and proceed *ext.

<. I highly recommend mar- bars !ith all features as it is listed belo!. Then

##.7hoose *amed Instance and provide text :eld nearby !ith its name.

Then clic- *ext.

#%.Then clic- on se the same account for all SQ Ser!er ser!ices*

then clic- Bro+se.



#&.I put Administrator as my current account !ith all possible rights in the

text :eld and then pressed /hec0 *ames. It !as modi:ed according

IBM Maximo Asset Management Start /enters

The system administrator is responsible for assigning the Start 7enter todiFerent security groups. Start 7enter content contains reports* lin-s to actions*applications and data records that are relevant to the group. If a user isassigned to more than one security group* the user !ill have more than oneStart 7enter.

Start /enter /omponents

A Start 7enter consists of one narro! column and one !ide column. 2achcolumn can be con:gured to display one or more portlets that creates aspeci:c Start 7enter to support a particular 3ob function. Belo! are thecommon portlets"

Modif#ing a Start /enter'

• Login to IBM Maximo Asset Management.

• 7lic- the Modify 2xisting Template

• Select a template you !ant to modify.



• 8ou can edit the portlet content by clic-ing the icon.

• 7lic- the Save Template !hen done.



Assigning a Start /enter

• Login as system administrator.

• o to / Security / Security roups.

•

Inside Security Groups application, hit enter to display the list of all security groupsand select the security group that you want to assign a Start Center.



• Once you selected the group. Select the lookup icon beside start center template to

search for available start centers.

• Select the template that you want to assign to the group.



• Click Save when done.

IBM Maximo Advanced inancial Management Tutorial

IBM Maximo Advanced inancial Management is a third party Maximo add/on

!hich see-s to simplify one of the basic :nancial tas-s !hich need to be doneby any organisation* administering the chart of accounts.

hen setting up Maximo an organisation has the option to either use a

validated chart of accounts or to allo! any combination of L 7omponents. It is

generally best practice to validate the chart of accounts for t!o main reasons"

#> 2nsuring that all L Accounts entered are correct combinations



$> Simplifying data entry by operators by only giving them access to

valid combinations !hile providing a step by step choices through

the diFerent components.

The main do!nside of having a validated chart of accounts is that it needs to

be maintained. This means that !henever a ne! pro3ect* cost centre or accountis approved the Maximo 7hart of Accounts needs to be updated* and usually

the tas- is 5uite onerous as it entails creating the L 7omponent* together !ith

numerous ne! valid combinations.

/hart of Accounts (A-M)

The follo!ing is a step by step tutorial in creating a ne! resource and lin-ing

this together !ith a cost centre and a number of activities.

The :rst step !ill be to create the L 7omponent. This can be done in the

normal !ay in Maximo"

The next step is to create the combinations of 7ost 7entre* Activity and

1esources needed by the business. enerally this !ould entail creating this one

by one through the 7hart of Accounts main area. This could ta-e hours

depending on the number of combinations* if the ne! resource needs to be

attached to three cost centres and %) activities a total of <) ne! combinations

need to be created for each ne! resource. The 7hart of Accounts =AM>application simpli:es this by giving the user the option to select the

components and it !ill create all the combinations. This can be done by going

to the 7reate L Account tab and follo!ing these steps"

=ntering Administrati!e Mode

In order to be able to run the con:guration routine directly from the Maximoapplication the system must be s!itched to Administrative Mode.Administrative mode means that only speci:c users !ill be allo!ed into thesystem* generally the ones !hich are part of the administrator groups* and logsoF all other users and doesn4t all remote connectivity =therefore it !ill onlyallo! login through the server>.

Turning on Admin Mode !ill log oF all the users in the system and shouldtherefore be used !ith due care.

/onguring the "atabase

hen the system has been successfully set into Admin mode* the next step isto con:gure the database. The database con:guration routine maps thechanges made in the Maximo +atabase 7on:guration application to thedatabase.



Warning" Before continuing !ith this step* ma-e sure to ta-e a databasebac-up. This can be used to return to the previous state if there are issues !iththe database con:guration.

This can be done by"

#> 7lic- on the List Tab of the +atabase 7on:guration application

$> Ma-e sure that the P+o you have a current bac-up4 chec-box is tic-ed

%> 7lic- on Start 7on:guring the +atabase button. +epending on the

settings on your system you might be as-ed to enter your pass!ord and

reason for this.

&> 7lic- on the 1efresh Status button periodically. This !ill fetch the current

status of the process and sho! it on screen. Dnce the process :nishes

you !ill be given a message stating this.

Adding the attribute to the Application



At this point the attribute has been added to the database but it is not yetavailable for the users to interact !ith. In order for the users to be able to usethe ne! :eld this needs to be added to the appropriate application. This can bedone through the Application +esigner application in Maximo. This can be doneby follo!ing these steps"

active control.

iv. Input Mode N speci:es !hether the :eld is read/only* or mandatory

0> hen done save the application and test the application directly in

Maximo.



Warning" 7hanging an application should be done !hen no users are in usingthat application. If someone is using the application the user could be loggedoF the system !ithout !arning resulting in loss of !or-.

Before ma-ing any changes to an application ma-e sure to ta-e a bac- of theapplication. This can be done through the Application +esigner application by

follo!ing these steps"
