Applicants for Diploma programmes should hold either;UCE, UACE certificate with a principle pass OR A certificate from a recognized tertiary institution.International Applicants: Applicants must have qualifications that are recognized for the university entry in their respective countries. Or should be verified by National council For Higher Education (NCHE) OR equated by Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB).

Name(s) on the academic documents (Certificate & Transcript)The University prints on the academic documents (certificate & transcript) names as stated on your “O” and “A” level results slips at the time of registration, and Bachelors for postgraduate Students (in future). Any discrepancies in spelling have to be notified to the office of Academic Affairs a month before graduation. Please be informed that the original certificate is printed ONCE for each graduand and no original replacement will be availed in the event of loss/damage after issuance of such documents to the graduand.

4. Academic documents (Certificate & Transcript) CertificationCertification of the mentioned documents is done at a fee of Ug. Shs. 5,000/= per copy payable at the University Cashier office in the Finance Department. Original University receipt MUST be presented at the time of request for certification.

The graduands’ names of the respective programme will then be read out. As the Dean reads the names, the graduands’ will come forward and lineup in rows before the Chancellor. Male graduands will take off their caps, female graduands will keep theirs on. All graduands will remain standing in the rows as the Chancellor awards them the diplomas and degrees.

The Chancellor will admit the diploma graduands with these words: “By the authority of the University entrusted to me I congratulate all those persons whose name(s) have been read for the Diploma in…………………of Ibanda University, Hard work for Excellence, For God and My Country”.

The Chancellor will admit the degree graduands with these words: “By the authority of the University entrusted to me I confer upon all those persons whose name(s) have been read, the Degree of…………………of Ibanda University, Hard work for Excellence, For God and My Country”.

Graduates will thereafter walk orderly back to their seats.
