IB PSYCHOLOGY (STANDARD)Introduction

Psychology is the systematic study of behaviour and mental processes. Psychology has its roots in both the natural and social sciences, leading to a variety of research designs and applications, providing a unique approach to understanding individuals and society.

The IB psychology syllabus examines behaviour at three different levels of analysis: biological, cognitive-behavioural, and sociocultural, so has a holistic approach to explaining human behav-iour. Understanding how behaviour is studied, and awareness of ethical issues are integral to the course. In terms of course content, there is a great deal of flexibility.
