Requirements of the IB Program

The IB Diploma

• Exams are given in May for each IB class.

• IB students are required to complete projects for each class.

• Each exam is scored out of 7 points.

• In order to earn an IB diploma, a minimum score of 24 out 42 must be earned.

• Students may opt to be certificate students.

• Creativity, Action, Service (CAS):

Active involvement in a minimum of 150 hours of community service, artistic, and physical activities.

• Theory of Knowledge: an externally assessed course that contrasts ways of knowing in all six subject areas

• Extended Essay: A 4000 word independent research paper in one of the six subject areas
