4. Characteristics of bus transport

passenger traffic in Russia

4.1.3 Length of automobile roads

The total length of the Russian road network of federal, regional and local roads in the end

of 2009 was estimated to be … kilometers, which is not enough for a country like Russia

(compared to the length of highways in the USA - … million km, India - … million km). More

or less the road network is formed in the European part of Russia. Here, the network has a

radial structure: most of the roads go in different directions from Moscow, which is

convenient to travel from / to Moscow, but uncomfortable for all other cases.
