• 1st Semester Freshman Mechanical Engineer• This course has showed me all of the neat engineering

projects going on at UF.• I definitely intend to involve myself with Gator Robotics• I plan on pursuing Graduate Study in Ocean Engineering

and working on underwater robotics or fisheries systems• Meet as many new people and get involved as much as

you can. It’s a lot more fun that way. You should probably go to class too.

• Sophomore Industrial and Systems Engineer• I’ve learned a great deal about circuits sensors

and basic programming• At UF I plan to thoroughly prepare myself for a

long career in engineering• Eventually I’d like to own my own business or

consulting company• If you’re not first you’re last.

Chris Nevins• I am a 1st semester freshman, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

This course has kept my interest in engineering fresh through laying open fields of study I thought I would have to wait years to begin discovering. It’s a great reminder of what’s to come, and incentive to push towards your goals and not let them come to you. I am here to get a bachelor’s in both mechanical and electrical, get a master’s degree in at least mechanical, and eventually get a PhD. The goal is to get a job in research, to push the boundaries of our capabilities and our understanding. Where exactly this will lead me, I don’t know, maybe NASA, maybe research at a university, if so, most likely UF. What would I tell the next class? If they are taking this course, they’re on the right path. Keep doing what you’re doing.

The Epic Adventure

• Intercept the rebels before they can reach the poorly designed exhaust port!

Way to go civil engineers!

Conclusions

• We’ve learned the value of teamwork, as well as developed a firm understanding of some basic electrical concepts that will assist us in our future studies

• Beyond all else we now understand some more of what the UF engineering program has to offer.

• To future ECE Adventurers, we say “Make sure you eat a solid sandwich before class.”
