PRECAUTIONS: Always follow safe operating procedures, any national or local regulations and site specific instructions.
Electrical Safety DANGER: Always turn off the power to the OPT before removing the high voltage area Perspex guard. Never touch wiring or components inside the high voltage area with the power on. DANGER: If only using the circuit breaker to isolate the OPT, be aware that the wires leading to the circuit breaker may still be live. CAUTION: Always take basic anti-static precautions when working on the electronics, i.e., wearing a wristband with an earth strap.
Site Safety Always make yourself familiar with all site safety precautions including national and local regulations and general precautions for dealing with flammable liquids and vapour. Obey all company regulations and site specific instructions relating to the installation.

Upgrade
NOTE: Contact the Helpdesk before you head to site and book one of our technicians. We will need time to reconfigure the OPT. Contact the helpdesk once on-site, before disconnecting the unit, to ensure all transactions from the site are uploaded. The OPT has a UPS backup battery, when mains power is lost the OPT will start beeping. In this state, 12 volt power is still available from the backup battery. This must be disconnected before commencing work. To disconnect the backup battery either turn off the rocker switch on the UPS circuit board or unplug CON3 on the UPS board.

Procedure
▪ Contact the helpdesk. ▪ Turn off the power to the OPT using the circuit breaker, and turn off the
battery power on the UPS board using the switch. ▪ Record the serial numbers of the I9500 PIN pad and card reader, the
Compac helpdesk will ask for these. ▪ Remove the cable connecting the SCR port of the I9500 PIN pad and the
card reader. ▪ Remove the I9500 card reader from the OPT door using a flat-head
screwdriver, keeping the nuts for the new card reader. ▪ Remove the power cable and the communication cable (COM2) from the
back of the I9500 PIN pad.

▪ Remove the I9500 PIN pad from the OPT door using the nut-driver. Use the
Torx screwdriver to remove the screw from the anti-tamper switch. ▪ Remove the privacy shield from the front of the OPT door using the Torx
screwdriver. ▪ Securely cable-tie the PIN pad ends of the communication and power
cables out of the way to the white cable sheath winding. ▪ Unplug the communications cable from COM2 on the back of the Compac
Box. ▪ Securely cable-tie the Compac Box end of the communications cable out of
the way. ▪ Remove the power cable from CON8 of the UPS board.
Pull the UPS board end of the power cable back through the gland and insulate it using heatshrink or a connector and tape, and then cable-tie it securely out of the way.

▪ Fit the new privacy screen to the outside of the OPT door and fit the adapter
plate over the privacy screen studs on the inside of the OPT door. Secure with M3 washers and Nylok nuts.
▪ Fit the new SCR200 card reader using the nuts form the I9500 card reader, ensuring correct orientation.

▪ Fit the SCR200 Pin pad to the adapter plate using M4 washers and Nylok
nuts, with the PIN pad’s anti-tamper switch secured to the stud on the top left, and the card reader’s anti tamper switch secured to the stud on the bottom left.
▪ Connect the PIN pad and card reader using the SKP port on the card reader. ▪ Connect the card reader loom to the HOST port on the SCR200 card reader
and COM2 of the Compac Box.

▪ Feed the power cable of the card reader loom behind the UPS board, through the gland and connect it to CON8 of the UPS board with the White core going to 12V and the Black to GND.
▪ Securely cable-tie the card reader loom to the outside of the white cable sheath winding.

▪ Stick sponge strips to the back of the drain bracket and the grooves on the top of the SCR200 card reader and fit the drain bracket over the card reader.
▪ Push the drain bracket forward on the card reader until the bottom of the drain bracket is up against the bottom of the OPT door and cable-tie the back of the drain bracket securely to the card reader.
