Morning Procedures:

1. Enter 5th grade hallway by 7:35am quietly.2. Visit your locker to put away your back pack and take out materials you need for your morning classes.3. Visit bathroom and drink water before class starts if necessary.4. Line up outside of your 1st period class quietly and wait for teacher to allow you inside the classroom.

LockerProcedures:

.1. You will be assigned a locker. Do not share lockers unless permitted by your teacher.2. You may put a lock on your locker but must provide your teacher with your lock combo or a spare key. 3. You will get to visit your lockers 4 times per day. Once in the morning, once before recess, once after lunch and once before your last period. 4. Keep your locker neat. No open containers of food or drinks. No stickers or drawings inside.5. DO NOT SLAM locker doors. Wait for your turn.

Entering Procedures:

.1. Line up in the hallway in your number order quietly with arms at your side or holding your materials.

2. Come in quietly when given permission and put away your materials in assigned spots. Return to sit in your assigned seats.

3. Copy down Objective & Homework into your planner/notebook. Take out your homework for helper to collect if any.

4. Begin warm up immediately in your notebook.

Recess Procedures• We will have recess from 10:49am – 11:04am. You will be dismissed by

Table Group when everyone in your group has:

– Cleaned their area, all your supplies in a neat pile on your table.

– EVERYONE Sitting QUIETLY and HEAD DOWN on the table.

– When your group is dismissed, line up quietly in the order your are dismissed in.

– Walk to your locker maintaining a single LINE with supplies in your hand and NO TALKING.

– Quietly put your supplies in your locker, pick up your lunch kit and line back up in your number order line by the 5th grade door so we

can WALK towards the field.

If anyone in our line fails to do the above, we will GO BACK to class and try again.

Recess expectations:• You will walk from school building ALL the way to the

field and back. Stopping at every curb to wait for teacher signal to continue.

• You will put your lunch kits neatly on the picnic tables.

• Do not jump over gazebo rails, go in between rails, sit on rails or stand on the picnic tables.

• Have fun but be respectful of each other’s personal space. No use of inappropriate language, hitting, kicking, throwing rocks, or any object at each other.

• Listen to teacher’s clap or whistle and line up immediately in your number order line.

Lunch Procedures• We will head directly to lunch from recess. If you forgot to pick up your

lunch kit from the locker you will not be allowed to go to your locker again. You will need to purchase school lunch that day.

• You will seat in your assigned lunch spot. Free seating days are earned not given.

• Follow lunch rules posted and explained to you during lunch. No sharing of food and be respectful of the staff there. If the whole class keep the clips from being drop into the bin for 4 days in a row, you will earn a free seat lunch Friday.

• Be helpful and clean up your area. Be respectful. Use the bathroom, wash your hands and drink water before lunch time is over.

• Line up without talking when teacher come pick your class up from lunch.

Attention Procedures

When I need everyone’s attention, I will say:

If you need a pencil:

• Try borrow from classmate sitting next to you first.

Classwork Finished Early Procedures

• Find at least 3 things you can do to improve the quality of your work before turning in.

– Did I check for correct spelling, punctuation, neat handwriting, full and complete sentences?

– Can I give more examples? Explain my thinking in more details? Make it colorful?

– Is this the best work that I will be proud of if it is posted on social media?

• Ask for permission to work on your homework or other assignments.

• Ask for permission to play Legends of Learning games or listen to a podcast.

• Homework will be given on FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK and due on Thursday that same week. Exceptions are projects occasionally.• Completed homework will be your entry ticket to class. NO homework = being send to principal’s office or another teacher’s room to complete your work.• Record your homework

Absent/Missing Work Procedures

It’s YOUR responsibility to

1. Check the “Absent Folder Wall” to see what assignment was missed.

2. Check with the teacher if you are not sure about a missed assignment and need help.

• You have THREE days to make up any missing work for full credit. After one week, highest grade you can earn will be 70.

Supplies Procedures• Raise your hand to borrow supplies from supplies stations by

the front door such as stapler, hole punch, paper unless during station time when movement is allowed.

• Your lab table has caddy with class set of scissors, glue, crayons, pencils, and wipes. Use these supplies only if you forgot to bring yours. Return everything EXACTLY where you found it. If you are sitting at # 1 spot, you may only use scissors labeled #1. Not happy with what I provide? Simple…Bring your own set of supplies

• Supplies manager will make sure caddy looks exactly the same and replace any dull/broken pencils with new pencils from Ms. Chen during clean up time. Jobs will be posted and rotated each day.

Cleaning Procedures• Clean your area EVERY section switch!!!

• Clear your area of the lab table. No trash left behind.• Clean the floor and under the lab table. Wipe up any water/mess on the table.• Check behind you and next to you for extra pieces of trash that’s not yours but you can help put in the trash can.• Put any materials you have away. Return materials you borrowed. Supplies manager double check each caddy and restock pencils as needed.
