Fiction and imagination : There are a lot of so called « Space

Opera» books, sci-fi films about space travels.

2 majestic examples:

Why light speed is a problem ?

Time to go to nearest star: about 3 years Cross the Galaxy: about 30000 years. Go to Andomeda Galaxy: 10^6 years.

Travelling with light speed (upper limit):

Relativistic effects : Desynchronization of proper times between the traveler and Earth people.

So…

« No material body can go faster that light ».

But…There are a lot of investigations triyng to bypass this limit.

Two main currents:

Space-time distortion (Star Trek current)

Space-time hole: wormholes , Einstein-Rosen bridge (Star Gate current).

But: Negative energy density, and need of exotic matter.

There will be two kind of men:

- Those who have a space ship,

and those who stay on Earth.
