How to Round Numbers
STEP 1:
Underline the digit in the place value noted
Round 63,125 to the thousands
STEP 2
Draw an arrow to the digit on the right of it

STEP 3
If that digit is less than 5, the underlined digit remains the same (this is called rounding down)

BUT
If that digit is 5 or more, the underlined digit goes up one(this is called rounding up)

Any digits to the right of the underlined number become “0”s

Round 86 to the nearest 10 1. Underline the “8” because it is in the 10’s
place value 862.Draw an arrow to the “6” because it is to the
right of the number we underlined3.The next digit is "6" which is 5 or more, so
