Norris Jackson III, better known as EJ, is a Chicago bred singer and songwriter who has already shared the stage with artists such as Jonathan McReynolds, Ivan Neville and Shele Sondhiem. With a strong passion for music, and an even greater passion for God, EJ has been writing songs for nearly 10 years, and has been singing twice as long, since the age of four to be exact. Utilizing all of the knowledge and skills that he cultured while earning his Bachelor of Music degree in Contemporary Urban and Popular Music as a 2012 graduate of Columbia College Chicago, EJ released his debut EP, Supernaturally Loved, which features 5 of his original songs that he both wrote and produced, and plus a modern day take on one of his favorite hymns. His single, “I Don’t Wanna Break Your Heart” debuted on Street Sermonz with Keno Greer, and has since been played on Da Gospel Truth with Gerald Jones, X’perience Radio with Nate Thompson, as well as The King’s Highway with Darryll King on 102.3 Rejoice. He has also been featured in the The Examiner, The Chicago Defender and Heed Magazine. Influenced by a wide variety of musical artists, such as The Beatles, Smokie Norful, John Legend, Keith Urban, Musiq Soulchild, Michael Bublè, Jason Nelson, Brandy, Kierra Sheard, Rascal Flatts, and John Meyer. Norris hopes his practical, inspirational, empowering lyrics will have an impact on others, just as the music and essence of the aforementioned artists have impacted him.
