Today, my students don’t have to. Even as a 2nd grader, I took great pride in my work. My story won the Ezra Jack Keats award in a writing competition and was published in the local library. Teaching is more than a job– it’s who I am. During the summer, I recharge by volunteering with kids. My mom fought to ensure I received a great education.
