Dear potential sponsor, The Georgia Tech HyperJackets are a diverse group of 60+ undergraduate/graduate students who areworking to propel the development of the "5th mode of transportation", the Hyperloop. Our team consists of students from a wide variety of majors including aerospace, mechanical, computer,and electrical engineering as well as material and computer science. We share interest and experience inCAD, machining, rapid prototyping, PCB design, CFD, etc. In each of the last two years, our team was one of less than 50 teams (out of more than 700) to make it tothe Final Design Review stage of the competition. What is SpaceX's Hyperloop Competition? The Hyperloop concept was proposed by Elon Musk in 2013 as a high-speed transportation system.Traveling directly between major cities at speeds above 700 mph, the Hyperloop system seeks torevolutionize the model of long-distance transportation. To accelerate research behind the pod concept,SpaceX hosts an annual pod competition that challenges universities from around the globe to design andbuild a functioning pod prototype.
