Q: What happens when bioart, mushrooms and political theory get together?

A: Coffee and textbooks become more than just food for thought...

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

A graduate student heard the call of the rebel mycelium, and organized a rag-tag army of cardboard volunteers and organic coffee grounds as substrates subjects. Together, this group would set out on a fifteen week mission: to

explore strange new worlds, to seek out new theories and new academic boundaries, to boldly grow mushrooms where no New School theorists had grown mushrooms before.

This is the story of one graduate student’s exploration into the nexus of mycotechnology, ecological theory and the political bonds forged through the fifth kingdom. A

story where danger lurks on every unclean finger, and the slightest change in humidity can destroy entire worlds. It is a story of the love between a boy and his mushroom block, and a testament to the power of interspecies love.

This is the story of Hybrid Worlds.
