Hard to believe it is already our third sale. I guess with our three little ones running wild andalways something needing to be done around here, time simply passes quickly! One nice thing about time flying by, it means the sale rolls around that much quicker. I can not

wait for this particular sale, I have been thinking about it non-stop since we started breedingheifers back in early May!I knew last spring that this was going to be a very special set of bred heifers. We culled harder

than ever and went into breeding season with only 140 open heifers. Of that 140, we pin pointedthe top 55-60 for this sale. In keeping with the idea of fewer numbers, we only weaned our top20 heifer calves. However, the key to making this sale much more enjoyable for myself, has been the addition

of Taylor Schwartz as our herdsman. Taylor has been nothing short of a blessing thus far. He isyoung, energetic and most of all enjoys what he is doing (at least that iswhat he tells us!). His hard work is very evident and you will see thatby the presentation of the sale cattle.Folks, I want you to know one thing, I have put my heart and soul

into this operation, and after ten “short” years of doing so, I would liketo present to you what I think could very well be one of the top sets ofcattle to sell in North America! Please do not hesitate to call. I wouldlove to visit with you about the cattle.

Thanks Again, Mike HustonHuston Cattle Company

Well, no better way to kick off the 2009 Heart of the Herd Salethan this absolutely amazing After Shock bred heifer. Thisheifer was always my favorite since we weaned last fall. I willchallenge anyone to find one any stouter or made any betterthan this maternal phenom. Whether it’s a heifer or bull calf itwill be worth a lot.

North, SOUTH, East or West it does not matter where you comefrom or what kind you raise. When one like this comes up forsale, you had better be there or have someone you know bethere. I don’t know if I can do her justice by trying to describeher, so I will leave it at this, “I think she could be one of the bestsmokey breds to sell anywhere.”

It was like pulling teeth, but I talked my good friend Dan Byersinto selling this one as a bred. Folks, it simply does not get muchbetter than this deal here. It is real simple, Dan paid $5,500 forher as a calf and I promise he won’t be takin’ a loss on her, if you catch my drift. If this one won’t click with Monopoly or Heat Wave I will kiss your *@ #!!! Take a few extra minutes andreally study this picture, she is this good!

Lance Holtsclaw and his family had a blast showing this heiferin 2009. He asked to sell her in the sale in order to finance his2010 project. Our juniors have had great luck doing this thus far.Judging by the quality of this Heat Wave heifer, I would ventureto say Lance ought to be able to buy about any little heifer hewants! Congrats Lance and thank you for your support.

I’m going to brag on a couple of buddies young bull real fast.Three ears ago Ross Lentman & I were at Interglobe Genetics inPontiac, IL. We stumbled through the barns, keep in mind, itwas late in the summer, too late to breed any more cows. Guyer & Duello had this bull named BLACK LABEL an IRISHWHISKEY son. I had never heard of him, but I will say this,“Best yearling bull I’ve ever seen standing in a stud barn!” Sowe bred a handful of cows to him the next year and here we are. I absolutely love Lots 74, 75 & 76. Lot 74 is really, really, really good. Taylor gets a little more attached to her everyday. No matter where she ends up, I think they will be very happy!
