The Hunterian Scholarship

Award Applications are invited for a scholarship to assist with the fees and

examination for the History of Medicine Course of the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries of London and will be paid directly to the Society of Apothecaries.

Free first year Fellowship of the Society will be offered

Eligibility:Fully registered, non-Consultant grade doctors, dentists and medical scientists and medical students.

address, eligibility etc and the title and outline of their proposed submission Submission to include a short statement on reasons for wishing to attend the

course Dissertation should have some relevance to John or William Hunter or

medicine in the 18th Century. Entries should be submitted electronically Completion of the Diploma in the History of Medicine Course of the

Worshipful Society of Apothecaries of London including the examinations, dissertation and test lecture.

Presentation of a 10 or 15 minute abstract at the Inaugural meeting. Award to be presented following the presentation at the Inaugural meeting

held in September 2014

Timescale Deadline for submissions June 30th 2014 Shortlisted candidates will be notified by July 30th 2014

DIPLOMA COURSE IN THE HISTORY OF MEDICINE

The course is intended to give a good general introduction to the subject for medical and non-medical participants, as well as providing preparation for the Society of Apothecaries' diploma examination (DHMSA).

The Course Director is Dr Christopher Gardner-Thorpe MD FRCP FACP

It is run annually (Sept – June) and takes place once a month on a Saturday (full day) at the Conference Centre, Wellcome Collection, 183 Euston Road, London NW1 2BE and The Worshipful Society of Apothecaries, Apothecaries' Hall, Blackfriars Lane, London, EC4V 6EJ.
