Hunterdon Symphony: June 23 Is it time for a vacation? The rousing music of the 2016 Pops Concert
with the Hunterdon Symphony is the perfect send-off for your inner
Explorer. Bring your blanket or lawn chair and sit back. Let your
imagination wander to the ends of the earth along with Music of the
Isles, the theme of this summer's Music Under the Stars concert.

Hunterdon Harmonizers: June 30
Comprised of more than fifty men from Hunterdon and surrounding
areas, the Harmonizers have entertained audiences throughout the
county for more than twenty-two years. They have successfully
competed in Barbershop Harmony Society events as far away as
Indianapolis, Indiana. As a chorus they offer a wide variety of music
sung in a Capella and close 4- part harmony. www.njharmonizers.org.
Scott DeCarlo: July 7
With the street smarts and strength of an NJ police sergeant, and the
musicianship and voice of a country singer, Scott DeCarlo is using his
unique sound to take the country music scene into his custody.
Boasting a big voice and enormous sense of determination, this East
Rutherford native is a true showman of modern country. His kick-in-
the-door blend of country-rock is energetic, accessible, and above all,
authentic. www.scottdecarlo.com.
Full Count Big Band: July 14
The Full Count Big Band is a seventeen piece orchestra that has been
performing together for over a decade. A professional group whose
music is eclectic, not just nostalgic. Although the term “big band” is
most closely associated with its heyday of the Swing Era (1935-
1945), it is a genre that has existed from the 1920’s and continues to
this day. With a musical library of over five-thousand arrangements,
Full Count provides an eclectic mix of music ranging from the Swing
Era classics to more contemporary jazz music, latin, rhythm & blues,
funk, and rock. Regardless of the musical style, the instrumentation of
saxophones, trumpets, trombones and rhythm provides unrivaled
harmonic and rhythmic excitement. www.fullcountbigband.com.
Jim Barone Elvis Tribute: July 21
Jim Barone is an award winning Elvis tribute artist. Jim’s tribute
spans the Presley catalog keeping true to the sound, passion, and style
that encompassed Elvis as an entertainer. The result is a natural
performance, without cliché, that embodies the soulful sensuality, the
playful swagger, the humor, and the complete command of the
audience. www.jimbarone.com.
Tusk Fleetwood Mac Tribute: July 28
Tusk covers all the great hits of Fleetwood Mac. The five seasoned,
well-respected musicians comprising Tusk have been making music
together in various combinations and styles, in original outfits and in
cover bands, for over twenty-five years. It is only fitting that they
should come together to form the Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute,
and pay homage to a group that dominated the charts during the band
members’ formative years. www.fleetwoodmactribute.com.
Best of the Eagles: August 4
This group of all-stars captures the instrumental and vocal prowess of
the biggest California super group of all time! Established in 2012
with veteran musicians from central Jersey, the Best of the Eagles
play the music of the Eagles in a very true-to-form tribute show. With
six powerful vocals, outstanding harmonies and great musical accom-
paniment, the Best of the Eagles are one of the premiere tribute shows
around, guaranteed to rock the audience!!! bestoftheeagles.com.
Captain Jack Billy Joel Tribute: August 11
The Captain Jack Band is a Billy Joel Tribute band consisting of some
of the tri-state area’s top musicians. The band, in every performance,
captures the “live concert” arrangements of these timeless hits which
attracted tens of thousands to the Billy Joel concerts. Every event is
packed with all the energy, passion and interaction of a Billy Joel
concert, represented by three decades of Billy’s music in every
Captain Jack show. www.captainjacktributeband.com
Amish Outlaws: August 18
The Amish practice a tradition called "Rumspringa" (running around)
in which, at age 16, they can live free of the strict Amish code before
deciding if they want to be baptized into the Amish church.
Surprisingly, virtually all of the youths return. But sometimes they
don't. Four of the original six members of this band were born and
raised in Lancaster, PA and had a strict Amish upbringing. No
electricity from land lines, no alcohol, no musical instruments, but
their spirits were too wild for the Amish lifestyle. Once they trampled
in the Devil's Playground, there was no turning back. Since
Rumspringa, the Amish Outlaws have become well acclimated to the
pleasures and vices of the modern world... music, most of all. From
Johnny Cash, JayZ, Lady Gaga to Bon Jovi & Elvis they will enter-
tain you! www.amishoutlaws.com

ages 7 to 12, $145
Join us for this new camp to build robots with the company
Sciensational. Campers will make and take home the Space
Nine Infra-Red Robot. It is an eight-legged star explorer. Its
moves and turns are controlled by its own infra-red remote
transmitter. Unlike most other robots, Space Nine can walk
on rough surfaces, turn left and right, and even cross over
rocks. Campers can create a moon surface for the Space Nine
to explore. Better yet, the Space Nine Robot can dance and
be controlled by campers. Learn how the different gears
mesh and are driven by a motor. Working in small groups,
campers will also get to build other robots. Build a Sumo
wrestler, have tug-of-war events, and make these robots do
specific tasks. Robots in this portion of the workshop are not
taken home. Be a part of robot technology and have fun
investigating the future effects it will have on our lives!
Campers who sign up for both Sciensational Robotic Camp
and Sciensational Magnetic Camp may bring a lunch and stay

ages 7 to 12, $145
Join us for this new camp to learn about “Magnetic Levitation
for Future Transportation” with the company Sciensational.
Build your own “futuristic Maglev” car to race and take
home. In 1999 a Japanese five-car maglev train (magnetism,
electricity, and levitation) set a record of 345 miles/
hour. Yours won’t go that fast, but we will have fun building
it and learning how it operates. Learn about the relationship
between magnetism and electricity. Campers will also get to
build a simple maglev track as well as a cool electromagnet.
Learn how motors and generators work. Build and take home
the world’s simplest motor. Make your own compass and
take part in many other magnificent magnetic activities!
Campers who sign up for both Sciensational Robotic Camp
and Sciensational Magnetic Camp may bring a lunch and stay
through the lunch hour for free. * Please wear clothes that can get dirty. Smock shirts

Saturday, August 27, 5:00
AM to 2:00 PM, $25
Garret Mountain, a Passaic
County Park which sits atop
the First Watchung
Mountain, is a premier
birding spot in New Jersey.
Troy Meadows is in Morris
County and managed by a non-profit called Wildlife
Preserves. It is a remnant of the ancient Glacial Lake
Passaic. It has been a relatively new location in birding
reports during the last few years. Join us on a visit to
these two locations as we search for our avian friends.
SANDY HOOK
Sunday, September 18, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, $25
Sandy Hook is a 2,044 acre barrier beach peninsula that
offers seven miles of beach line, salt marshes, and a
maritime holly forest. The variety of coastal habitats
including sand dunes, grasslands, salt and freshwater
marshes, thickets and maritime forest offers a diverse
range of birding opportunities including shorebirds,
songbirds, and raptors. Time permitting we will stop at
other locations based on observation reports.
Bird trips are led by Tom Sheppard, Chief Park
Naturalist. Tom and his colleagues focus on helping all
participants learn about the birds, and teach them about
interesting characteristics of each species. They will
also point out other natural history information about
the locations. Please pack a lunch, as stops are not
guaranteed. If you have your own binoculars or
spotting scope, please bring them. Binoculars are also
available for loan. Trips are designed for adults, but
mature youths under 18 can contact Tom for approval.
Please dress appropriately for the weather. Transport is
by County Park vans. All trips leave from and return to
the County Arboretum. Trips are recommended for any
birder at all levels of ability, unless otherwise stated.

completed, therefore we are changing the Public Lands
Day project to working on the trails at Musconetcong
Mountain Preserve on Ellis Road in Holland Twp. Please
note the group will meet at the Schick Reserve parking
lot, 250 Little York-Mt Pleasant Road, Milford.

available. Through
generous donations,
volunteers will enjoy a light
breakfast and full lunch. A
regular program registration
form can be used to sign up
for this event, pre-
registration is required!
FALL NATURE CLUBS
for KIDS AGES 3 – 3RD GRADE

your child to many exciting nature topics. Park
Naturalist Laura Kroon Bush will guide the children
during hikes as they discover the diverse field, forest, and
pond habitats at Echo Hill. Other hands-on activities
include science experiments, field games, and take-home
craft projects. The children will be able to observe the
subtle changes from week to week as we progress
through the season. Through our explorations, children
will also sharpen their attention to detail as we observe
the colors, shapes, textures, and sounds of the natural
world.
This year we are offering Sessions A and B for ages 3
to 5 and Session C for kindergarten through third
graders. This is a drop-off program.
Please be sure to dress your child for the outdoors so that
the whole group will be able to enjoy our lessons fully.

that can get dirty. Nature Clubs meet rain or shine. In
inclement weather, we shorten our outdoor adventures to
spend more time indoors.

and signed by a parent or guardian. Included on the form
are the date of last tetanus shot, known allergies, and
