A Visa is needed to visit Hungary. Visa is a permit to stay in Hungary not more than 90 days in an 180 days period either for a conference , as a tourist , business purpose, or attending any cultural event. However Indian Diplomats and U.N. laissez-passer holders does not require any Visa to visit Hungary. The Short term Visa does not permit yo to travel to Hungary for working or studying purposes for not more than 90 days. The Visa applied for Hungary is called Schengen Visa. The Visa processing fee for Schengen visa is EUR 80 for adult and EUR 40 for minors. Moreover, if anyone needs a residence then they can apply to Embassy/Consolate of Hungary in India. The Schengen Visa must be applied 2 weeks prior to your planned trip to Hungary so that the legal formalities can be done within the time frame. If we talk about Hungary then it is 45.6% cheaper than India. Must have documents for Hungary Visa:-

1. Original Passport with at least 6 months validity and minimum 3 blank pages + all old passports if any;

2. Visa Application form;

3. 2 recent colour photographs (Photo Specification);

4. Personal Covering letter (For Employed - Plain paper/ For Self-Employed – Company Letterhead);

5. Original updated Bank Statement (last 6 months);

6. Income Tax Returns / Form 16 for last 3 years;

7. Confirmed return flight tickets;

8. Hotel reservation;

9. Day wise Itinerary;

10. Travel Insurance (minimum coverage of EUR 30000).

Kindly note: The Govt is very strict on the photograph requirement; please ensure that your photos are as per the specifications.
