Most food is grown on farms.

Farmers build irrigation systems to take water to

the plants and animals:

Food is processed or preserved to be transported

and stored. It can be put in cans, bottles or other

containers.

We need water to drink, to clean and to prepare

food.

Water can come from a natural source or from a

reservoir.

Page 6: Human habitats

Humans build houses or buildings to protect

themselves from bad weather.

Page 7: Human habitats

Food and raw materials are transported from

farms to the shops in towns and cities.

Trucks and other forms of transport carry the food.

Page 8: Human habitats

Human beings often cause pollution to the

environment (air pollution, water pollution and land

pollution).

We must take care of the environment.

Trees clean the air.

Reforestation is important.
