Cloning would help infertile people or people who have lost a child.

• Imagine people who have lost a child and can’t have another, because of age or illness. It would be cruel to ban a technology that could allow them to have there child back.

• What about the feelings of the child though? It would feel like a replacement.

• It would be cruel to ban a technique that might enable an infertile couple to have a child. And if a couple had a child and then became infertile it would be cruel on the child who couldn’t have any brothers or sisters.

It doesn’t hurt anyone.

Some people don’t see anything wrong with cloning, because no individual gets hurt:

• If it was done without their permission they would have the same remedies as if they’d been operated on without their permission.

• It doesn’t hurt the baby:• There is no evidence that children born

using other forms of assisted reproduction (like test tube baby) are less value than those born through natural conception.

Children's rights.

Cloning is a way of making sure that children can fulfil the right to a good genetic heritage.

• If we could use cloning to ensure that our children were genetically sound, it would breach their human rights not to do it.
