ADJECTIVES

An adjectives is used to describe or explain the quality of a noun or pronouns.

Examples:

a large house.

a small ball.

a delicious food.

a cute girl.

We usually put an adjective before the noun that it describes.

For examples:

He was a model student in school.

She gave him a cute look.

She eat the delicious food happily.

The guilty party accepted the punishment quietly.

After the verb to be , the adjective is put before the noun.

For example :

The day was windy

The voice is loud and clear

The dress was pretty but expensive.

After the words ‘’ seem’’, ‘’appear’’ , ‘’become’’, and grow, the adjective comes after the noun.

For example :

That woman seem angry with you

He looked very pale when he came out of the hospital

She became rich after inheriting her father’s property

Many adjectives are use with prepositions

For examples :

He is famous for his generosity to orphans

I was surprised at the value of those paintings

He is very proud of his achievements.

Sometimes, when we use two or more adjectives, we do not know which adjectives should comes first. We should put them in this order.
