1 Unkal Lake

Near Ulavi ChannabasaveshwarTemple, Hubballi-Dharwad,Karnataka 580025, India

Located on the outskirts of the city,Unkal Lake is a popular tourist spot in Hubli.Spread over 200 acres, this is the largestwater body in the area. There is a statue ofSwami Vivekananda right in the middle ofthe lake and a park nearby, which makes anice picnic spot. The views from the lake arequite picturesque, and attracts a lot ofvisitors here. Though boating is one of thepopular activities here, there are a a numberof other recreational options available aswell.

2 Nrupatunga Hill

One of the most popular spots in the town,Nrupatunga Hill serves as a picnic spot forthe citizens of Hubli-Dharwad and touristsalike. The hillock provides a panaromic viewof the entire cityscape amidst a green andserene atmosphere. It is a very beautifulplace, ideal for bird watching and trekking.The Devi Temple is also located on the topof this hill. 3 ChandramouleshwaraTemple

Chandramouleshwara Temple is a 900-yearold masterpiece built during the BadamiChalukya Era. The temple is built along thesimilar lines as the ones in Badami,

Pattadakkal and Aihole. Unique to othertemples in the northern Karnataka region,the temple has 4 doors in 4 differentdirections.

At the entrance, there are two Shiva lingamsand two Nandi Bull statues.  One ofthe two lingams is called "Chaturlingam"owing to its 4 faces, and is a speciality of thetemple. Another highlight is the beautifullysculpted walls and pillars in the temple. Theimage of the dancing Ganesha is aparticularly arresting one.

Currently, the temple is being maintained bythe ASI.

4 Indira Gandhi Memorial GlassHouse
