Shield connection terminals

The clamping yokes of the KLBÜ seriespermit a reliable and easy connection ofcable shieldings. Five different versions fordifferent cable diameters can be installedsimply on a 10 x 3 mm busbar. Differentbusbar supports complement the series.

The main features of the connection concept are:

• Easy manual swivelling onto the busbar- also additional.

• No assistance tools are necessary.

• Diameter changes (floating) of the cableisolation are completely compensatedby the clamping yoke´s elasticity.

• Busbar supports can be installedon the mounting rails. This allows the 10 x 3 mm busbar to be placed in optimum position in front of the terminals.

• Complete range for conductors from 2 to 32 mm Ø.

The following example of a sensoramplifier with all relevant componentsdemonstrates the practical realisation

All shields are connected to a 10 x 3 mmcopper rail via the KLBÜ.

The potential compensation to the refer-ence mass is performed via lines with alarge cross section on protective conduc-tor terminals of the WPE type.

To suppress interferences from the network, net filters are used.

- theory and practice

The theoretical concept

The VDE 0113 - Part 1 prescribes apotential compensation for the electricequipment of machines. At the same time, undesired effects of electrostatic,electromagnetic and network-bound interferences are to be avoided.

Suitable measures are:

• Usage of filters and time delays.

• Distribution of reference potentials in „Contaminated“ and „Clean“.

• Neutral grounding of all referencepotentials with large cross sections (≥ 6mm2).

• All mass connections are to be kept as short as possible.

• Routing of all lines in parallel to the mass surface.

• Using of shielded lines and, if possible,grounding of the shield on both sides.

• Separation and shielding of switchingdevices and interference-sensitive component groups.

Implementation of the theoretical concept in own application

The distribution of the reference masses,the neutral grounding and the distributionof analogue, digital and protective earthingcan be represented best by the control ofthree sensor amplifiers.

All PE connections of the sensor amplifiersare assigned to the „Contaminated Earth“reference potential.

The OV potential is divided in digital andanalogue masses.

For all motor connections and all signalconnections, shielded lines are used andthe shield is to be grounded on bothsides.

The mass potentials are neutral-grounded.
