Overall, U-M’s 33 NCAA Tournament appearances are also a national record; U-M had been tied with Minnesota. Head coach Red Berenson has guided U-M to each of its 20 straight NCAA Tournaments. In that time Michigan has reached 10 Frozen Fours, win- ning national titles in 1996 and 1998. U-M’s 23 Frozen Fours and nine national titles are the most in history. U-M’s last Frozen Four was in 2008, while its last NCAA title came in 1998. Michigan is 46-25 in the NCAA Tournament. Coach Berenson is 25-19, which puts him third all-time in wins behind Jack Parker (30, Boston University) and Jerry York (29, Bowling Green and Boston College). Junior forwards CARl HAGelIN and MATT RUsT each have 1-1-2 scoring lines in four NCAA Tournament games. All-time U-M NCAA Tournament results are on pages 12-13. U-M’S 2010 POSTSEASON STORYLINES U-M had a perfect 6-0 record in the CCHA Tournament to capture its ninth CCHA Tournament title, all of which have come since 1994. The six-game winning streak is U-M’s longest of the season and ties its best mark of the 2008-09 campaign. Fourteen players had a goal and all 19 skaters that participated had at least one point. lOUIe CAPORUssO had seven goals and four assists in six games. He scored both U-M goals in the 2-1 win vs. Northern Michigan in the CCHA title bout. CARl HAGelIN rides a five-game point streak (3-5-8) into NCAA play. Hagelin leads all U-M scorers with 17-30-47 totals. The swedish alternate captain has points in 16 of the last 17 games. Goalie sHAwN HUNwICk started all six CCHA playoff games, earning a 1.50 goals against average and a .930 save percentage. He was voted the MVP of the CCHA Championship. sTeVe kAMPFeR earned a team-best +12 rating in the CCHA Tournament. The senior defenseman also chipped in with a goal and four assists.
