Haukur Thorvardarson is an experienced and valued member of staff and has been employed at Hertvec for 17months.

Throughout this period of time his attendance record has been excellent.

His timekeeping and commitment to his job have been outstanding.

He is diligent in his preparation and planning, honest and trustworthy.

I have worked closely with Thor over the 17 months as his direct line manager. He has strong leadership skills which will stand him in good stead for any teaching post in the world of education.

As Thor’s line manager for this period of employment with HL colleges he has never been subject to any formal or informal disciplinary procedures whilst employed at Unaizah Male College.

Thor has both the skills and qualifications to teach across a range of levels within both English and computer subjects. Thor works well under pressure and is able to meet deadlines.

He leads by example and he is highly respected by his peers and managers alike.

He has experience of coordinating at course level. Thor is very adaptable and although his main subjects are English and computing he has taught a range of subjects across the curriculum including vocational project learning.

Thor has a proven record with his teaching. This is mainly due to his enthusiasm, commitment and the pastoral support he gives his students in addition to his subject knowledge.

Thor has the ability to apply theory to practice and students enjoy his lessons and the innovative ways he finds to ensure all learners are engaged and learning to take place.

All new staff find him very informative and supportive, willing to share both resources and his breadth of experience.

Thor has the qualities, determination and drive needed for successful completion of any new challenge and I highly recommend Thor for any academic post that he has applied for.
