(HT 701)• Day 1 Flight into Tel Aviv

Arrive into Tel Aviv’s Ben-Gurion Airport, where you will be greeted and transferred to your Galilee hotel.

• Day 2 Lakeside Ministry, Nazareth, Cana and Mount Tabor

Drive around the Sea of Galilee visiting the sites of Jesus’ ministry: the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount; Tabgha where the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand took place, and Capernaum which was the centre of Jesus’ Galilean ministry.

Continue to Nazareth, the town that was the boyhood home of Jesus, including a visit to the Basilica of the Annunciation which commemorates the visit of the Angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary, and is built over part of what is believed to have been Mary’s home.

Drive to the village of Cana where Jesus performed His first miracle of turning water into wine at a wedding feast.

End the day with a visit to Mount Tabor, traditional scene of the Transfiguration.

Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

• Day 3 The Jordan Valley, Beth Shan & Jericho

After breakfast, leave your hotel heading south to Beth Shan, site of extensive archaeological excavations and the best-preserved amphitheatre in the country.

Drive down the fertile Jordan valley to Jericho, a desert oasis, one of the oldest cities in the world and famous for its destruction by Joshua.

Continue to Jerusalem and drive to the top of the Mount of Olives for a first view over the Golden City.

Arrive at your Jerusalem/Bethlehem hotel for dinner and four night stay.

• Day 4 Tour of Old Jerusalem

Begin your tour on Mount Zion to

see the Cenacle or Upper Room

where traditionally Jesus and His

disciples shared the Last Supper,

and the Church of St. Peter in

Gallicantu where Jesus was brought

to trial before the High Priest.

Enter the Old City of Jerusalem

through the Zion Gate and walk

through the Jewish Quarter past the

Roman Cardo.

See the famous Western “Wailing” Wall sacred to the Jews, and the golden Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount.

Then follow the Stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa which marks Jesus’ traditional route to Calvary where He was crucified, over which the Church of the Holy Sepulchre now stands.

Visit the tranquil Garden Tomb.

Dinner and overnight in your hotel.

• Day 5 Massada and the Dead Sea

Drive south through the Judean wilderness to Qumran where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered.

Continue to Massada, the famous desert rock fortress and hear the story of the Zealots who chose to die by their own hands there rather than be captured by the Romans during the Jewish war of 1st century AD.

Drive to the shores of the Dead Sea, at the lowest point on earth, taking the opportunity to float in the salty buoyant water, rich in minerals.

Return for dinner and overnight at your Jerusalem/Bethlehem hotel.

(HT 701)• Day 6 Mount of Olives &

Bethlehem; the new city

Walk down the Mount of Olives from the chapel of the Ascension to see the Pater Noster church where the Lord’s prayer is displayed in many different languages, and Dominus Flevit with its tear-drop shapes dome, traditionally where Jesus wept over Jerusalem.

Continue to the Garden of Gethsemane at the foot of the hill, to visit the Church of the Agony and see the ancient olive trees.

Drive to Bethlehem (if possible) where the Church of the Nativity is built over the traditional site of Jesus’ birth.

End the day with a visit to the moving Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial.

Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

• Day 7 Return Flight

You will be transferred to Tel-Aviv airport for your return flight home.
