Draper Offers GREENGUARD® Certified ProductsAll Draper product lines include GREENGUARD® Children & Schools Certified Products which meet the strictest off-gas-sing standards. These products have been certified by GREENGUARD® Environmental Institute as not only low-emitting products but as contributors to a safer and healthier indoor environment for school aged children. Draper offers a wide variety of GREENGUARD® Certified projection screen surfaces and window shade fabrics. Please review the screen sur-faces on page 30 (Draper’s EcoVision logo appears next to screen surfaces which meet these rigorous standards) or visit www.draperinc.com/go/green for details.

Draper Conceal/Reveal™ Range of ProductsProducts bearing the Conceal/Reveal name hide a projection screen, window shade, projector or flatscreen display while not in use, moving them quickly and quietly into view when they are needed. Draper’s quality Conceal/Reveal products allow you to get the most out of your technology and your living space. Conceal/Reveal products offer tech-nology that’s never in your way. Watch for this logo on screen, shade, projector lift and flatscreen lift models which are part of the Conceal/Reveal product line.

AutoReturn™ Roller for Manual Projection Screens Available as an optional upgrade on selected models of Draper wall- and ceiling-mounted manual screens, the AutoReturn spring roller includes a built-in inertia reduction mechanism. With AutoReturn the screen unrolls in the conventional manner, then after a simple tug on the handle or pull cord gently retracts and slows to the closed position on its own.

Recycling Your AV EquipmentDraper encourages everyone to recycle as much as possible. That includes all products shown in this brochure! When you are replacing projection screens, lifts, mounts or window shades you have recyclable products. Shipping unwanted products back to the manufacturer for recycling is expensive for you and creates unnecessary emissions. The earth-friendly choice is to recycle locally.

If the product being replaced is in usable condition, donate it to a church, school, a charitable organization that needs audiovisual equipment, or to a local thrift store. Reuse is the most efficient form of recycling, and your donation may be tax deductible! For recycling instructions and help locating recyclers and thrift stores in your area, please visit www.draperinc.com/go/recycle.htm.

Access Screen SeriesAccess/Series V & Series EThe Access Screen Series is Draper’s thoughtful solution to the problems that have plagued projection screen buyers for years. Incorrect size of screen or aspect ratio, choice of surface and job site damage during construction—all can be avoided with the Access.

Case Now/Screen Later—The essence of the Access concept is a ceiling-recessed, extruded-aluminum headbox. The screen itself (viewing surface and motorized roller) can either be furnished with the case or at any time thereafter. The fabric and roller or “guts” of the Access or Ultimate Ac-cess screen itself installs in minutes, and the only tool you need is a hex key. Available in all projection formats up to 12‘ wide. Visit our website www.draperinc.com/go/AccessV.htm or www.draperinc.com/go/AccessE.htm for more information.

Attention architects, interior designers, building contractors, homeowners, Draper dealers and especially installers: The Access Screen Series is now even more ideal for home installations! We’ve shortened the height of the case and redesigned the hanging brackets—making it easier to put the projection screen in just the right place.

Access SeriesEliminates your installation problemsAccess/Series V—Motorized screen available with the unparalleled performance of our Tab Tensioning System in M1300, M2500 and HiDef Grey front projection surfaces, as well as the Cineflex rear projection surface.

Access/Series E—Motorized screen with your choice of a conventional viewing surface: in choice of Matt White, High Contrast Grey or acoustically transparent AT1200 or AT Grey.

*Don’t want to install your recessed projection screen in a ceiling? Draper’s Access Series is perfectly suited for cus-tom install, including within custom cabinetry or bookshelves. The slim Access Series case design makes it easy to conceal your projection screen, virtually anywhere, when not in use. The photos to the left feature the bookshelf install of an Access E screen.

Need to install a projection screen in front of a window? With the Access Dual Roller Flex-Shade, you can have a motorized window shade that covers and seals the window light, plus a Se-ries E projection screen with your choice of format and viewing sur-face, both in the same recessed Access headbox. See page 27 for more information.

Access CaseThe screen (motor-in-roller with fabric attached) comes with easy-to-install latching brackets. Latching brackets slide along a track inside the top of the case, so the case can accommodate different sizes of screens. A large case allows for maximum flexibility. For more information visit www.draperinc.com/go/AccessCase.htm today.

• Redesigned hanging brackets that slide in channels on top of the case, allowing unlimited adjustment to avoid interference with conflicting structures above the ceiling.

• A pre-wired junction box inside left end (of audience side) and a cable exit hole on top.

• Redesigned case with a smaller overall height. White flange around the perimeter of the case supports ceiling tile or trims out rough ceiling opening.

• “Pin connector” electrical connection of screen to internal junction box eliminates tools.

• Bottom of case that forms a slot for fabric passage and is removable without tools for installation or replacement of screen.

Motorized Screensceiling-recessed with closure

Ultimate Access SeriesNo other projection screen gives you so many benefits. The case may be wired and installed while the ceiling and electrical contractors are still on site; the screen can be ordered, shipped and stored separately, then inserted in the case after the room is finished. Eliminates the risk of job site damage. The screen may also be updated with a new format or viewing surface with no electrical or ceiling work.

Flange trims the opening of any type of ceiling. Plus, the independently motorized ceiling closure disappears into the case when the screen is lowered. When the screen retracts into the ceiling, the closure quietly returns to the closed position. Hinges are completely concealed, sleek closure is supported for its entire length, and absolutely no visible fasteners. Available in all projection formats up to 12‘ wide. US patent numbers 5,341,241; 6,137,629; 6,421,175; 6,532,109; and 6,816,308; other patents pending.

Ultimate Access/Series V—available with the unparalleled performance of our Tab Tensioning System in M1300, M2500 and HiDef Grey front projection surfaces, as well as the Cineflex rear projection surface. Visit www.draperinc.com/go/UltAccV.htm for more information.

Signature SeriesThe Signature Series is practically invisible in your home theatre. When activated, the independently motorized aluminum ceiling closure disappears into the aluminum case when the screen is lowered. When the screen retracts into the ceiling, the closure quietly returns to the closed position. Hinges are completely concealed, and the closure is supported for its entire length—no sag is possible. Screen can be operated from any remote position. Available in all projection formats up to 16‘ wide. US patent number 5,341,241.

Signature/Series V—available with the unparalleled performance of our Tab Tensioning System in M1300, M2500 and HiDef Grey front projection surfaces, as well as the Cineflex rear projection surface. Visit www.draperinc.com/go/SignatureV.htm for more information.

Signature/Series E—your choice of a conventional viewing surface: Matt White, High Contrast Grey, or acoustically transparent AT1200 or AT Grey. For more information visit www.draperinc.com/go/SignatureE.htm.

EnvoyThe Envoy is a good choice for a multi-function room—it disappears into the ceiling when not in use. The screen’s slender profile makes it easy to install above most ceilings. The Envoy has an automatic ceiling closure you can easily finish to match the ceiling. The Envoy is available with a Matt White or High Contrast Grey viewing surface in all projec-tion formats up to 12’ wide. Black masking borders frame your project-ed image on all four sides. Permanently Tensioned Screens

OnyxThe new generation of permanently tensioned screens begins with the Draper Onyx. You won’t find a more “user friendly” screen anywhere else on the market. You can have a beautifully framed image hanging on the wall in just 10 to 15 minutes, with one or two people assembling. Its 4˝ wide beveled, extruded aluminum frame interconnects on site. Each side piece slip-fits tightly to injection molded plastic corners, forming perfectly mitered edges.

A radical new approach to fabric attachment will amaze even the toughest of critics. No snaps! Uniform tension is applied to the entire surface area. Includes a feature to adjust the sag out of the fabric as time and gravity relaxes the viewing surface. Permanent wall mounting brackets included.

The wide black frame absorbs projector “wash”. You may also add the optional velvety black Vel-Tex® to the frame to eliminate reflections. Choose your viewing surface: M1300, M2500, HiDef Grey, AT1200, AT Grey or Cineflex. Offered in all projection formats up to a maximum custom size of 14‘ wide. Visit www.draperinc.com/go/Onyx.htmfor more information. US patent number 6,785,047; 7,113,332 and 7,369,310.

13

CinepermCineperm, Draper’s most economical permanently tensioned screen, consists of a 1˝ tubular aluminum frame with a snap-on viewing surface. The viewing surface conceals the frame completely with 2˝ black borders on all sides. Because the snap heads and the border are exposed, the Cineperm appears less “finished” than other permanently tensioned screens. However, the Cineperm is the perfect screen for custom applications involving a cabinet enclosure or the Draper Eclipse Screen Masking System.

Cineperm is offered with your choice of M1300, M2500, HiDef Grey, AT1200, AT Grey, or Cineflex surfaces, in all projection formats. For more information visit www.draperinc.com/go/Cineperm.htm.

ClarionClarion is designed for simple installation. The Clarion, like the Onyx, features snap-free and uniform adjustable tension but with a slimmer 2” frame. The 2” wide beveled, extruded aluminum frame interconnects on site. Permanent wall mounting brackets included.

M1300, M2500, HiDef Grey, AT1200 and AT Grey are the viewing surface choices. Any custom size is available up to 161” diagonal HDTV. Overall size, including frame, equals image area plus 4˝. Black aluminum is the standard frame finish. Cover the frame with optional velvety black Vel-Tex® to eliminate reflections. Visit www.draperinc.com/go/Clarion.htm for more information. US patent number 6,785,047; 7,113,332 and 7,369,310.

Eclipse Screen Masking SystemThe Eclipse is a motorized screen masking system installed with a permanently tensioned projection screen. The Eclipse allows the viewer to switch easily between two screen formats. The formats change at the single touch of a switch or remote control. Projected images are fully bordered in matte black in either format. Use the Eclipse with a Clarion or Cineperm. Visit www.draperinc.com/go/Eclipse.htm for more information.

Eclipse/H The Eclipse/H masks the projection screen on the two vertical sides, leaving its height intact. The viewing surface is fixed in a wide format, either CinemaScope (2.35:1), HDTV (16:9) or WideScreen (1.85:1), and the Eclipse/H masks it to either a HDTV (16:9) or NTSC format (4:3). When the Eclipse/H operates, the left and right masking sections roll down together from the top, supported by a horizontal steel slat bar. Sizes available up to 132” wide unmasked image area in any projection format.

Eclipse/VThe Eclipse/V changes the screen format by masking from the top and bottom simultaneously. The screen’s width remains constant. Choose the Eclipse/V when the projection screen is fixed in an NTSC or HDTV format and you want to convert to a wide format. Sizes available up to ’ wide image area in any projection format. US patent number 5,523,880.

Tapestry l Portable Screens

Portable ScreensAll three of our portable models are lightweight, easy to carry and simple to set up. The main differences are in the mechanism that holds the screen upright, and the sizes in which they are available. Each model can sit on the floor or table. They are equipped with enough black “rise” below the viewing surface to clear a coffee table and most theatre-style seating. All feature tear proof fiberglass-based viewing surfaces, unlike competitors products made with damage-prone mylar.

RoadWarrior—has a clean, simplified design. The sleek, high-tech appearance of this product makes it a natural for entry-level home theatres. Pneumatic cylinders hold the screen securely at the desired height. The screen is available in four sizes: 55˝ and 73˝ HDTV , 60˝ and 80˝ diagonal NTSC. Available with Matt White or High Contrast Grey screen surface.

Traveller—is similar to the RoadWarrior yet lighter in weight. A telescoping upright supports the screen at desired height. Five HDTV sizes: 46˝ through 92˝ nominal diagonal, and five NTSC sizes. Available with Matt White or High Contrast Grey screen surface.

Piper—is a breeze to set up: lift the upright, choose its height and raise the screen. Now let the show begin. Matt White viewing surface. During storage and transportation, the telescoping upright col-lapses and clamps to the back of the matte black extruded aluminum case. Three HDTV sizes: 55˝ through 77˝ nominal diagonal, and three NTSC sizes.

Rear Projection Screens

18

Draper offers several distinct types of rigid rear projection screens—traditional diffusion and optical screens, holographic screens and exclusive IRUS technology. Visit www.draperinc.com/go/RearScreens.htm.

Cinescreen®— Diffusion Rear Screens A transparent substrate, either glass or acrylic, with a permanently bonded diffusion medium. The diffusion medium distributes pro-jected light and creates a uniform high-resolution reproduction of the projected image. Cinescreen®, Draper’s diffusion rear screen, is unique among rear screens, because its diffusion medium consists of both an optical coating and an optical tint—each formulated for specific requirements.

The advantages of diffusion screens are superior clarity of image and availability in extremely large sizes. This characteristic can be an advantage in a room with a tiered seating pattern.

Draper’s Cinescreen® differs from any other rigid rear projection screens in extremely important respects. Cinescreen optical coatings are inherently abrasion resistant. No other manufacturer offers you this protection. Only Draper offers you a choice of six different optical coatings, each available in your choice of three unique optical tints. With a Draper

Cinescreen®, you can select the optimum combination of optical coating and tint based upon your projection equipment, audience seating pat-tern, desired contrast level, screen aspect ratio, ambient light level and aesthetic considerations. Only Draper offers you this versatility.

Draper uses the finest plate glass and clear acrylic as Cinescreen sub-strates. Virtually identical optical qualities.

• Cineglass®—Recommended for maximum sound isolation, scratch resistance and service life. Weighs approximately twice as much as acrylic, install by a glazier is recommended.

• Cineplex®—Lightweight, durable and break resistant acrylic. Easier to install.

DiamondScreen™— Optical Rear ScreensDraper’s DiamondScreens are the first rear projection screens designed specifically for video and data projection. Made of cast acrylic, incorporating a Fresnel lens on the projector side that gathers the light from the projector and a front lenticular lens that distributes the light

horizontally. With a DiamondScreen, you can expect the brightest rear screen image in the world—3.5 gain on axis. DiamondScreens have a panoramic 180° horizontal viewing cone. The High Contrast grey optical tint provides superior color contrast, and its anti-reflectance properties give superior performance even under conditions of high ambient light. DiamondScreens feature superior corner-to-center brightness, with no “hot spots.”

IRUSInfinite Resolution Uniformity ScreenSpecifically designed to provide maximum legibility with any projector. Today’s projectors offer higher resolution than ever before—and that means sharper, crisper images. The IRUS is up to the challenge. To maintain digital image quality, the IRUS uses proprietary technology to display the sharpest, most uniform image you’ve ever seen. An improvement for every rear screen application, the IRUS actually provides higher resolution than the human eye can perceive. The image is so consistent that it can be clearly perceived even at 90° off axis.

Rear Projection SystemsDraper RPX Systems take the guesswork out of rear screen system design. This system folds the light from the projector source using the finest optical quality, first surface glass mirror. RPX provides perfect rear screen picture quality while saving valuable floor space. Three systems to choose from:

RPXMirror height, projector height, mirror angle, and projector position (front-to-back) are all adjustable. Custom built to accommodate any required screen size or height.

RPX/PrecisionThe world’s most precise image alignment capabilities in a custom-built rear projection system and Alignment Platform. With incredible accuracy, it gives you isolated adjustment of a projector in all six axis: height, front-to-back position, side-to-side position, pitch, roll and yaw.

RPX/CompleteAll the features of an RPX plus a framed rear screen attached to structural supports. Framed screen “floats” in your wall opening. The wall does not bear the weight of the screen, so no finishing or reinforcement of the opening is required. Cut a rough opening and set up the system. Each element is square with the others: screen-to-projector platform; projector platform-to-mirror; mirror-to-screen. Saves installation time, plus installation of projector and alignment of image is made easier.

Projector Lifts & Mounts

No matter what your application demands, Draper has an innovative projector lift solution. When the need re-quires that the projector be positioned above, at, or just below ceiling height Draper offers designs which never compromise the aesthetics of your room while providing a range of operation methods. For more information visit www.draperinc.com/go/LiftsMounts.htm.

PhantomThe totally unique Phantom is a clever alternative to other projector lifts. It quickly and quietly dips the projector out of the ceiling and into the “show” position at the touch of a switch or wireless transmitter.

When activated, a trapdoor lowers the projector into your room using a precision actuator. The projector is easily aligned during installation to provide a direct light path onto the screen. The Phantom is supplied with a universal bracket that allows for easy attachment of a variety of projector models and a ceiling closure panel. Two models to choose from, as determined by size of projector. Visit www.draperinc.com/go/Phantom.htm.

OrbiterIngenious design allows the Orbiter to fit in small ceiling spaces, rotating 180˚ into “show” position at the touch of a switch or wireless transmitter. The Orbiter is supplied with a universal bracket that allows for easy attachment of a variety of projector models and a ceiling closure panel. Two Orbiter models to choose from, as determined by size of projector. Add the angled ceiling adapter to install the Orbiter into angled ceilings and even walls for projectors, video conferencing cameras, small displays or other equipment. Orbiter can even be mounted within tables. Visit www.draperinc.com/go/Orbiter.htm.

Important Questions to Address When Choosing a Projector LiftDraper projector lifts offer the innovation, modern designs and range of functionality to fit any home theatre or multipurpose room. The questions below will help guide you to the perfect Draper lift solution.

l How large is the projector you are using? All Draper lifts are made to fit a specific size range of projectors. l How far does the projector need to descend into the room? Several Draper lifts place the projector just below the ceiling line while others can descend a long distance.l How much space above the ceiling is available? (24˝ of space allows many different lift options) If your installation requires an Environmental Air Space Housing, verify that the lift you choose will fit into that space.l Does the lift have to fit within a 2´ x 2´ ceiling grid spacing? If this is a concern, Draper offers several lifts that are designed with this in mind.l What type of ceiling – acoustical tile or drywall? A ceiling access door is highly recommended when installing in drywall type ceilings.

RevelationThe Revelation is totally different from traditional projector lifts and mounts. The Draper Revelation permanently conceals the projector—and its noise—above the ceiling at all times. The image from the projec-tor is reflected off two first surface mirrors and onto the screen.

Available in two models. Both can be installed to match a ceiling grid, or used with reveal-style grid ceilings. Together, these two models ac-commodate a wide variety of LCD/DLP projectors, including those with offset lenses. Visit www.draperinc.com/go/Revelation.htm. US patent number 6,379,012.

Draper’s Cutting Edge Controls Make the DifferenceDraper offers a wide range of cutting edge control options for our projector lift products. Whether you need IR, RF or even control integration with an existing system, Draper controls mean quality and reliability. For more information visit www.draperinc.com/go/MotorizedLiftControls.htm.

LCD LiftBomb bay doors and a slim cross-section distinguish the LCD Lift. Most popular projectors fit easily inside this lift, which is available in two sizes. Bomb bay style closure doors are standard, but flat ceiling closure panel is also available. Environmental Air Space Housing comes standard as well. Contains internal switched duplex receptacle, 115v, which is powered when the unit is fully down. The LCD Lift contains an innovative current sensor that delays closing of the unit until the projector lamp has shut off. Lifting capacity 65 lbs. Visit www.draperinc.com/go/LCDLift.htm.

Descending Into The Room: Scissor Lift, MPL & AeroLift

Scissor LiftDraper’s Scissor Lift will retract your projector to ceiling level or above, then lower it to the exact projection and service positions you require. Draper factory sets all three positions—“store”, “show” and “service”—to your specifications, and adjustments are easy after installation. A patented design with scissors on the left, right and back sides of the unit stabilize the projector from any sway both laterally and front–to–back. Each lift is equipped with a fail-safe inertial safety belt system, and a cable management system that includes a pre-wired power cable on the back scissor, bringing 115v power right to your projector. For more information visitwww.draperinc.com/go/ScissorLift.htm. US patent number D395,909.

MPLThe Micro Projector Lift (MPL) is small and convenient, just like the projectors it is designed to accommodate. Weighing only 35 pounds, it can be installed in an existing 2´ x 2´ ceiling opening without disturbing the ceiling framework. The projector’s “show” position can be set at any point with infinite adjustability, up to 48˝ extension. The Micro Projector Lift utilizes the same exclusive 3-scissor design as Draper’s popular Scissor Lift, but features a compact side-folding scissor. The maximum load of 35 lbs. is lifted by two 1˝ wide Kevlar® straps. Safety belt provides extra protection. For more information visit www.draperinc.com/go/MPL.htm. US patent numbers D395,909 and 6,637,711; other patents pending.

If your application demands that the projector be lowered from ceiling height down into the room, typical in larger rooms, Draper’s innovative projector lifts are the answer. When you couple Draper’s superior manufacturing pro-cesses and industry leading designs, the result is a quality projector lift that will perform well without compromising asthetics. With a range of adjustability in “show position” up to 17´, based on model, Draper lifts are well suited for any situation.

Universal Projector BracketDraper has solved the projector bracket problem with a bracket that fits virtually any LCD/DLP projector.* The Universal Projector Bracket is standard on all SMS and Accuset projector mounts.

The Universal Projector Bracket is furnished with two sets of horizontal bracket arms—four long and four short—and four vertical spacers. You can mix and match bracket arms as needed to fit your projector. Infinite adjustability both horizontally and vertically enables you to find and secure the projector’s center of gravity in seconds, so projector will hang level. Attach a Universal Projector Bracket to an LCD projector, and then to an SMS Mount or Accuset Mount. Bracket nut connects easily to the ball joint at the bottom of both projector mounts.

*Any LCD/DLP projector designed for inverted mounting, with threaded mounting holes on the bottom of the projector, weighing 26 pounds or less.

Low Profile MountFixed mount for “low profile” ceiling installations with our Universal Projector Bracket for projectors weighing less than 26 lbs. Places top of projector only 47/8˝ from ceiling (may vary slightly according to choice of projector). Ball joint adjusts infinitely up to 30° pitch, 30° roll and 360° yaw. The SMS Low Profile may be used in most Draper projector lifts.
