Purification vs Desalination

• Purification is the removal/reduction of harmful substances, like particulates, chlorine, volatile organic chemicals, turbidity, bacteria, parasites, amoeba, cysts and viruses; while at the same time leaving the minerals in the water, intact. These minerals, in limited quantities, are needed by the human body for health and vitality

• Desalination is the removal/reduction of the Total Dissolved Solids. Desalinated water is actually “de-mineralised water”. This water does not contain essential minerals that are required by the human body.

• Desalination by RO technique does not ensure “safe” water, as there is no guarantee of removal of micro-bacterial matter.

WQA Gold Seal Class A certificate: The Water Purifier can purify even untreated water from any source, provided the water is meant to be drinkable, eg river water, bore-well water, etc. and not sewage water. UV dosage is also higher at a min of 40 mJ/cm2. In comparison, most products of Eureka Forbes are only WQA Gold Seal Class B certified, which means these give a lower UV dosage of 16 mJ/cm2, and are certified to purify only previously treated water, ie. As an addition to purifying municipal supply of water.
