    2.3. MOBILITY PARAMETERS

Double click on the folder Mobility Types in the directory Data/UMTS Parameters/Mobility Types

As for R99 the Ec/I0 is set to -15dB, the new parameter is HS_SCCH Ec/Nt targetwhich is used by iPlanner to define the power used for the HS_SCCH based on theradio conditions. This power is deduced from the HSDPA power specified in theTransmitters/Cells table. The HS_SCCH Ec/Nt target value recommended is -13dB based on the Nortelcalculation method.

This value is obtained by applying the following formula and considering:HS_SCCH power has a maximum equal to the CPICH powerThe mobile position is at the cell edge ( Ie/Ii=2)

    3. METHODE TO SIMULATE CELL THROUGHPUTWITH THE 2.4.0 ATOLL VERSION

Atoll until the beginning of 2006, is not able to make HSDPA simulation but onlyprediction

By using in Prediction/ HSDPA study/ Application throughput, you can predict thethroughput map available for one HSDPA user in the cell, taking into account thepower distribution define in the cell table.

If you want to consider several users, the only solution if to reduce the HSDPA

power proportionally to the users number.

For example: you have a 45W PA, your power distribution is

25% for common channel with CPICH,

    10% power-over head,

    35% for DCH,

30% for HSDPA which correspond to 39.5dBm,

if you have 4 users scheduled simultaneously, the HSDPA power should be 33.5dBmand then the user throughput map is obtained,

With the user throughput map, Atoll is able to calculate the area of eachthroughput value, and the % of the computation zone.

Then it is possible to calculate a medium throughput in the cell, and by multiplyingby your number of user you are able to calculate the cell throughput.
