    HS Virtual Piano - Users Manual

    Introduction: HS Virtual Piano (also HVP) is a musical

    keyboard having 36 keys made for Microsoft Windows

    operating systems. You can choose from

    128 channels (musical and percussion instruments),and 12Drumsetsounds (selectable from 32 different

    effects). For playing Drumseteffects use the Numpad

    Keys ( /,*,-, and 1 to 9 ) to play this Drumset sounds.

    Also there are 4 quick jump buttons for quickly

    To run HVP successfully on your computer, you'll need

    the following Minimum configuration:

    Processor: Pentium III/AMD 500 MHz or Better

    Operating System: Windows XP/2000/ME/9X

    Ram: 64MB RAM for Windows 9X (256MB for

    Windows XP)

    Hardware: a Sound cardHDD space: 3-4 MB

    Basic Settings of HVP

    This section will tell you about the basic settings and

    functions of HVP. To begin just scroll down to your

    desired information, you can also use the "Back to

    Top" button to jump to the Top of this page.

    Channels: channels are basically different instruments,from which you can play different sound effects by

    using same keys. In this version, there are 128

    different channels available. You can quickly change the

    channel by using the Right OR Left arrow keys. If you

    know the number of your desired channel, you can

    jump directly to that channel by using keyboard

    shortcuts.

    Channel Quickjumps: Channel quick jumps are

    shortcuts (Function keys F1 to F4 ) to your favorite

    channels. Before using this feature you need to bind

    your favorite channels to the correspondent shortcut

    key. Look at the example shown below.

    To bind a channel for Quicljumps (Function key F1-

    F4), Right-Click on desired Button from the piano

    interface (or Press Ctrl + F1-F4), the Channels Menu

    will appear (as shown in the figure below) and thenSelect the desire channel name from the Menu. Now

    whenever you press that Function key it will jump

    directly to your favorite channel.

    In the Following Example : the Channel "Clavinet" is

    Selected for the Key F4. Now When you Press "F4" onyour Keyboard the Piano will automatically jump to

    the "Clavinet" Channel. The selected channel number

    will appear in the box "Current channel number" and

    the selected channel name will appear in the box

    "current channel name".

    Drumset: You can also play Drumset sounds while

    playing the piano. To play drumset , misc sounds, use

    Numpad keys ( / * - , 7 8 9 , 4 5 6 , 1 2 3 ). The

    Numlock must be ON to use Numpad keys for the

    piano.

    There are "32" different effects available in drums

    menu, but you can play only 12 sounds at a time. If

    you want to choose the sounds, just click any of thedrumset sound keys and then select your desired sound

    effect from the menu.

    In the following example : the sound "Pedal Hi Hat" is

    selected for the key "Numpad 6".

    Note : You can also use the shortcut"Control +

    Numpad [ /, *, -, 7, 8, 9, 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3 ]" for

    setting Drumset effect.

    Basenote: Basenote are different Octaves, by which you

    can change the frequency of vibration for the

    same channel. There are 12 Base notes available inHVP. The quickest way to change the Basenote is using

    the Up/Down arrow keys on your keyboard. Otherwise

    you can also click on the current Basenote and select

    other basenote from the drop down menu.

    Note: To access the Basenote menu, you can also usetheshortcut"Control + B".

    Intro music: Intro music is pre-recorded sets of music,

    which can be played by pressing the "F5" Function

    key.. There are 5 controls for the Intro music which

    can be accessed by pressing the Function key F5 to F9.

    Below is the Description of all the Five keys.

    F5- Play Intro Music

    F6 - Add Effect to the Current Intro Music

    F7 - Pause Playing Intro Music

    F8 - Ending of Intro Music

    F9 - Stop Playing Intro Music

    The Box on the top above these control keys shows

    the current intro music, which can be changed by

    clicking on it.

    Intro Tempo: By using this control you can control the

    playing speed of the Intro music. To slow down the

    Intro music simply scroll downthe Intro Tempo slider

    or use the shortcut"Shift + Down arrow"

    Troubleshooting

    Problem: Error "Unable to open Midi out!!" (See figure

    below)

    If your getting this error, it means that your systems

    midi port is already in use by other applications, and

    thus cannot be opened for the piano. To resolve thisproblem do one of the following.

    1. Try to close other processes and applications which

    may interfere with the midi port (Close all sound

    related applications). Then click on the orpress Control + F5 Key this willrefresh the piano to reopen the midi port.

    2. Second option is click the menu (Top-left button)and then select

    any other midi device that is not currently selected,

    see example shown below:
