Dear Hornet Nation,
On Tuesday, we surprised the students and celebrated Throw Kindness Like Confetti day. Inorder to prepare for this, our staff along with the Building Leadership Team, put over 1,500hand-written post-it notes of positive affirmation on every student's locker. The students weresurprised and loved reading all the positivity around the building! Modeling and practicing dailyacts of kindness is what we mean when we say #SouthPride.
Thank you to all of you who joined us for Spring Parent Teacher Conferences last night. Weenjoyed seeing so many of you in our hallways.
District 86 sent out a letter regarding information about the coronavirus. Please click HERE toread the letter.
Please note, Monday, March 2nd, is a Late Start Day. Classes begin at 8:50 am.

GREAT JOB andWE ARE PROUD OF YOU
National Art Honor Society Students!
Our students just finished a large mural painting project for the mayorof Darien, Mr. Joe Marchese. The mayor requested a mural design for
the foyer halls of the Darien City Hall building that displayed images relating to the 50thAnniversary of the town. Twenty-four Hinsdale South students spent many hours outside ofschool and they have finally added the finishing touches after working on the project for 5
months. Their hard work and commitment to this project were truly remarkable and we are soproud of them.
The mayor has invited the community to celebrate the completion, with a coffee and dessertreception prior to the Town Hall meeting on Monday, March 16th at 6:00pm. He will honor each
of the artists and present them a letter of commemoration.
Thank you to art teacher Ms. Jen Belmonte for making this happen!Thank you to art teacher Ms. Jen Belmonte for making this happen!
