HS Announcements: Monday, Oct. 15 th High School 1. Attention Juniors & Seniors. The following institutions and military branches will have representatives here to meet with you either in the media center or in Lab 70 during homeroom time: 10/15 – Navy 10/16 – Heidelberg 10/17 – OSU ATI 10/22 – Taylor 10/23 – Air Force 10/24 – Ohio Northern 10/25 – Ohio State School of Cosmetology/Salon Schools Group Please stop by guidance to sign up or if you have any questions. 2. Attention seniors: Are you interested in earning a full tuition scholarship to study accounting, business management, computer technology, medical technology, or office technology? If you answered yes, then you should consider UNOH and attend their open house on Friday, Oct. 26 from 9:00-3:00 pm to learn how you can earn this full tuition scholarship. See Guidance for more information. 3. Attention juniors and seniors: Are you considering Youngstown State University? If so, they are having two CRASH DAY/OPEN HOUSES on Saturday, October 20 and Friday, November 16. These are days for students and parents to meet faculty members and current students, explore different academic colleges and majors, and finally-tour the campus, residence halls and dining facilities. Please stop in HS Guidance for more info. 4. All juniors that are interested in applying for Prom Chair can pick up an application from Mr. Lamb. Applications are due back to him by tomorrow, October 16 th . If you have any questions, see Mr. Lamb. 5. Conditioning for HS Girls Basketball will begin today after school from 3-4:30. All girls not involved in a fall sport should be in attendance. Bring running shoes and clothes to go outside. Conditioning will be Monday thru Thursday. See Mr. Thomas if you have any questions. 6. There is a new bowling league for high school students starting tomorrow, October 16 th at 7:00. Cost will be $6 per night and it will run for 6 weeks. Contact Southwest Bowl at 653-7171 if you are interested. 7. There will be a STAND meeting for current STAND members during Junior/Senior homeroom in Mrs. Rafferty's room Wednesday 10 /17. Sophomores, you can bring your lunch. Athletics 1. The 8th Grade Volleyball Team lost to Mechanicsburg on Saturday. Olivia Ames had 2 points with 3 kills. Kiana Reames and Camille Whitcraft both had 2 points. Mikalia McIntosh had 3 kills and Kelby Strapp had 2 kills. The Tigers end their season with the record of 7-10. 2. The 7th Grade Volleyball Team won the OHC tournament Saturday, ending their season with an 18-1 record. In the first game, the Tigers defeated Mechanicsburg. Jonni Parker had 11 points, 10 aces and 4 kills. Cassie Luthman had 6 points and 2 aces and Macy Murphy added 4 points. In the second game, WLS defeated Miami View. Jonni Parker had 11 points, 5 aces and 9 kills. Karli Dowden had 10 points and Macy Murphy added 8 points. Tory Cordell had 4 kills. In the Championship game, WLS defeated Springfield Catholic Central in 3 sets. Jonni Parker had 17 points, 15 aces and 14 kills. Macy Murphy had 8 points, Aubrey Stillings had 8 points, Abby Dillion added 4 points and Tory Cordell had 6 kills. Congratulations OHC Champions! 3. The Varsity Girls Soccer Team tied Indian Lake on Saturday, 1-1. Lindsay Hostetler scored for WLS and April Kelley had 2 saves in goal. Our next game is this Saturday at Troy Christian at 2:00. Our four cross country teams won 4 OHC Championships on Saturday at Triad. For our OHC Champion Middle School Boys, Justin Jordan finished in 1 st place, followed by Charlie Williams-3 rd , Bryan Woods-5 th , Zavier Esch-9 th , Andrew Landis-12 th , Bishop Williamson-14 th , Cameron Cozad-19 th , Bailey Shafer-26 th , and Ian Higgins- 29 th . 7. For our OHC Champion Girls, Reghan Bieleski finished in 1 st place, followed by Katie Hartsel-2 nd , Ashley Black- 6 th , Sarah Godwin-7 th , Laine Godwin-8 th , Jenna Magnuson-10 th , Taylor Henault-17 th , Sophia Farquaharson-18 th , and Anna Edwards-22 nd .

Also running for WLS were Jordan Smith, Madison Woodruff, Darby Thomas, Sarah Williams, Lyndsey Eschelman, Grace Edwards, and Annie Steiner.

9. For our OHC Champion Varsity Boys, Aaron Scott finished in 1st place, followed by Alex Adams-2nd, Joey Adams-4th, Chris Buschur-8th, and Ross Kelley-16th. Also running for WLS were Stephen Whetstine, Chris Davis, Michael Lehman, Alex Steiner, David Patterson, Kaden Cox and Quincy Glunt. Congratulations to all our cross country runners and coaches on a great day!
