We are proud to introduce you to the HRTicker Smart MDATM. Working as compounding pharmacists, we saw the need to improve what was available in terms of a suitable and accurate delivery system for patients receiving topical medications. The majority of topical delivery devices available to compounding pharmacists have major flaws—the inability to deliver accurate, flexible, and specific doses of transdermal creams and gels, the nuisance of bulky or messy delivery systems, as well as the inaccurate dosage outputs of the product dispensed.

Topical syringe systems can exhaust the pharmacist or technician’s time when preparing. Pumps in general are less dificult to fill but not as accurate nor customizable. The HRTicker Smart MDATM makes vast improvements on all these areas to provide a superior topical medicament delivery system.

The HRTicker Smart MDATM was designed with 3 main principles: precision and accuracy, ease of use for the patient, and efficiency for the pharmacy staff. It is the most accurate and consistent form of delivery with the capabilities of dispensing specific amounts of medica-ment.

Made in the USA, the HRTicker was built from the ground up employing German and Ameri-can engineering and advanced design technology in order to accomplish many of its astounding features. Furthermore, in order to calibrate the HRTicker we used the average densities of the most common transdermal delivery bases available to compounding phar-macists across the nation. The end result: delivery of accurate doses of creams and gels based on the volumetric weight of transdermal drugs.

HRTicker Smart MDATMThe HRTicker Smart MDA™ is a patented, state-of-the-art metered dose delivery system that provides accurate, reproducible, and specific dosing capabilities for topical medica-tions. This transdermal applicator is compact in size, sustainable, and label-smart; which makes it patient and pharmacy friendly, increasing compliance on both ends of the topical medicament delivery spectrum. Its ease of use and ability to deliver accurate and precise doses of creams and gels based on the actual mass (g) of topical medica-tions allows it to better address the needs of pharmacists and prescribers while creating a uniquely positive experience with patients. The HRTicker takes advantage of conve-niently arranged equispaced visual number tabs (dial) to indicate the exact amount of cream or gel to be delivered, thus separating itself from nearly all other applicators. Patients simply listen for the clicks as they turn the dial mechanism, which indicates audibly the exact dosage to be applied. Furthermore, the efficiency in loading the appli-cator is unparalleled. Its large chamber opening allows for ease of transfer for any pharmacist or technician filling the HRTicker.

Accuracy and Reproducibility StudyPriming: 4g of composition expelled, (80 CLICKS).For this study, flowable transdermal composition1 was transferred

to the HRTicker™ applicator, packaged and labeled, then allowed to settle ovenight in order to eliminate air pockets. On the day of the study, each applicator unit was tapped for 30 seconds to further remove air pockets, and a visual test was conducted to confirm removal.

Continue to prime theHRTicker until you have aligned a Down Arrow with a Major Digit Tab. (ie. .25, .50, .75, 1.0 ). This provides the patient a proper starting point. Wipe off the dispensed cream.

FILLING INSTRUCTIONS FOR PHARMACISTS & TECHNICIANS*

While filling, periodically tap the HRTIcker onto the palm of your hand or counter tosettle the cream uniformly while minimizing air pockets.

Insert the dispenser (cap with hole) on the top of the HRTicker by aligning the insertion guides with the slots on the top of the chamber and snap-on tight until it clicks!

STEP 4a

Prime the HRTicker by turningthe base clockwise until the cream is dispensed through the outlet.

STEP 5

Press the safety capuntil it snaps-on to a properly closed position. If the cap doesn’t fit in tightly, it may be an indication that the dispenser in Step 3 was not snapped-on properly.

STEP 6a**

Use the vertical label indicator bar on the HRTicker tohelp make label placementsimpler by placing the leftside of your label along theextruded line.

STEP 6b

Apply the rest of the label by gently pressing downthe middle and toward theright side.

Remove the safety lid by placing your thumb under the thumb tab and pushing upward.

STEP 3

Always follow your doctor or pharmacist’s instructions on how to apply the medication. If desired, apply the cream directly with the HRTicker by rubbing the dispenser cap against the area of skin as shown.


Please read all information carefully before using the HRTicker.

Prevent evaporation of the next dose by completely securing the safety lid. (TIPS: Some of the water that makes the bulk of the cream may evaporate without the safetylid.)

When the top part of the plunger reaches the extruded word “REFILL” (as shown above), it is time to refill your medication. There are approximately 6-7 grams remaining.

PRIMING THE UNIT

Turn the applicator base clockwiseto apply your specific dose, as instructed by your pharmacist or doctor. Use as many clicks as instructed.

If you begin to turn the applicator and the cream does not come out, itmay be an indication that you need to prime the device. Priming: turn the applicator base clockwise until the cream begins to dispense out. (It may take several turns.) After the cream comes out, use a tissue to wipe off the cream. Your device is now primed and ready to use!

Changes in pressure during flying or traveling may cause the medication to spill out of the container. We always recommend placing the applicator in a zip lock bag to minimize air

getting into the applicator and to avoid spillage.
