We often throw away waste material thinking it will be of no use to us. But Ritesh Lohiya, has made millions by making trendy products like bags, chairs, etc., using waste material. His company Priti International has a turnover of around $8million with customer base in 36 countries.

“After losing all our money in many failed business ventures, we could not afford to invest in anything new. The only legacy of those failures was the string of garbage strewn around our old factory. Out of desperation we started thinking about how we could generate any kind of revenue from these waste items. Thus, Priti International was born in 2005”, says Hritesh.

Failure as the stepping stone to success

The 39-year-old, along with his wife Priti, got this idea when a Danish tourist came to their handicraft shop and was interested in a tin chair. Inspired from the tourist’s praise, they started making things from waste materials. Preeti started collecting tin and started manufacturing products using it.
