8/2/2013 All Requests for Training (SF-182s) to be funded by FY13 training funds allocated to your office must be routed in SATERN, and received in the HRMD/Employee and Organizational Excellence Branch
• Any SF-182s received after August 2nd will not be processed, and will be returned to your office.
8/8/2013 Bankcard purchases using expiring funds must be ordered and entered into the system.
8/9/2013 Last day to submit PRs for new purchase orders, delivery orders or task orders on existing contracts requiring obligation/award in FY 13 using normal procedures.*
9/9/2013 Last day to submit PRs for additional funding to existing contracts requiring obligation in FY 13 using normal procedures.*
9/16/2013 NSSC cutoff for submission of domestic, XTDY and foreign vouchers – Approved domestic, XTDY and foreign vouchers must be received at the NSSC by this date.
9/20/2013 HQ Travel Office cutoff date for submission of travel authorizations – Approved HQ travel authorizations must be received at the HQ Travel Office by this date to ensure processing is complete prior to Year-End shutdown.
* After deadline, completed Procurement Verification Form must accompany PR

FY14 Budget Status
Both sides of Congress are discussing funding levels less than NASA’s request. Sequestration may also play a role which could result in an even lower appropriation.

Agency Leadership Program Opportunities
NOMINATION CALL FOR NASA 2014 LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS Application Deadline for HQ Civil Servants: September 13, 2013 The annual call for nominations to participate in two Agency-wide development
programs is now open. These programs include the (1) NASA Foundations of Influence, Relationships, Success, and Teamwork (FIRST) and the (2) Mid-Level Leader Program (MLLP). The NASA FIRST is a one year program and targets GS-11 and GS-12 civil servants. The MLLP is a 16-month program and targets GS-13 through GS-15. Come learn more about these programs at any one of the following information briefing sessions:

• Agency E-Mail Service (NOMAD)• The NOMAD team is upgrading the Agency E-Mail service to Exchange
2010 and increasing storage capacity for individuals mailboxes• HQ personnel will be migrated to the new service in a phased approach
over a two month period beginning in July 2013• Customers will receive an IT Notice when they are scheduled to be migrated• Anticipated user impact is a 4 hour period of time when their mailbox is being
migrated (not a system level outage or impact)• New messages will be queued and delivered after the mailbox migration has been
completed• Benefits and improvements associated with this upgrade
• All 400MB mailboxes will be upgraded to 1GB mailboxes• All 1GB mailboxes will be upgraded to 2GB mailboxes• Improved operability of the webmail service• Improved interoperability between PC and Mac devices
E-Mail Services Update

On-Line Meeting Services• The current Cisco Webex service will be replaced with
Microsoft Lync in October 2013• This service replacement is a requirement in the ACES
contract• The Lync on-line meeting service provides customers with
the same service capabilities as WebEx but with cost savings
• The Lync on-line meeting service will be piloted across the Agency from August through October 2013
• All current WebEx VTC seat subscribers will be invited to participate in the Pilot Deployment

Enterprise Service Desk• The services and capabilities of the Agency Enterprise
Service Desk continue to be enhanced and augmented• ITCD and representatives from the HQ community are testing the
enhances associated with the August ESD system update• Capability for customers to lookup past incidents and service requests• Improved clarity of system generated e-mail messages sent to customers• Bug fix to address a system level communication issue

Building Update• Renovation Complete on 9th , 8th ,7th, 6th, and 4th floors !!!!!• 3th floor renovation started June 27, 2013
• Estimated completion date September 4, 2013• NO NASA employees permitted on this floor without proper safety certification
• 5th floor renovation is scheduled after completion of 3rd Floor• Concurrently build new 1st floor Security Suite
• Drawing schedule for 1st floor, Stairway, and Archives• Design Intent Drawings completed and reviewed• Construction Drawings will be delivered for review on August 21, 2013
• Compiling design requirements for the 2nd Floor• Weekly meetings continue with Piedmont, their contractor
team, GSA and NASA HQ• Review schedule and deliverables• Ensure code compliance
