Quick Reference Guide

Mac and Linux
All features and functions that Windows users have except:
Can invite by e-mail but cannot initiate other e-mails from within MyRoom
Cannot convert imported PowerPoint files for display in center viewing area
Cannot share a specific application
Android and iOS Allows you to attend and participate in meetings while away from your desk
Chat room
Open chat room
Either:
Double click a contact
Or:
Right-click on a contact
Select Chat from the menu
Chat via text
Type in the chat field at bottom
Hit Enter on your keyboard

Click Call button
When your contact accepts the call, the button will be replaced with microphone, speaker, and webcam features
Drag & drop contacts
Contact status Available or Away
If contact’s status is Available or Away:
Drag contact from Contacts tab into open Room or Chat Room
Contact will receive a popup invitation
Contact status Do Not Disturb or Unavailable
If contact’s status is Do not disturb or Unavailable:
You cannot drop contact into a room
Message will tell you the contact does not wish to be disturbed

Manage room access
Consider granting contacts access to enter your room directly from their Rooms tab for regularly scheduled meetings or to help you prepare for a meeting

Right-click on a room
Select Manage access from the menu
Drag contact from Contacts tab to Room Access window
Choose Reader, Writer, or Room Administrator role *
Click Send offer button * Refer to the Rooms Quick Reference Guide or MyRoom Help documentation for information about room access roles.

Invite contact
Invite your contacts to join you in a room while you are in that room
Choose Invite | Invite contact menu option
Select contact
Click Invite button
Invite by email
Send an e-mail invitation to anyone while you are in a room
Choose Invite | Invite by email menu option
The first time you choose Invite by email MyRoom Settings will open so you can choose a method.
That method will be used each time unless you change the selection in MyRoom Settings, General tab.

Click Open system settings button if you want to change your default e-mail application
An new message containing the invitation details will open in your default email application
Complete the To field, then send the message

Choose one of 5 durations
Valid for specified duration or until revoked

Generates Host and Participant keys
Valid until revoked
Not the most secure method of granting room access

Schedule an event
Plan a meeting in advance by scheduling an event. Send details of the event, including date, time, and event keys, via e-mail or calendar invitation to your attendees. They do
not need to have MyRoom accounts to attend your event.
Open Events window
Either:
Right-click on a room
Select Events from the menu
Or:
Select a room
Click the calendar icon at bottom of Rooms tab
Create event
Select meeting date from the calendar
Click Create event button

To see which attendees have blocked private chat:
Either right-click in the People panel
