Introduction
Congratulations, you have purchased one of the finest helicopter ground handling units on the market today. We at ParavionTechnology, Inc. have strived to engineer
®the Heliporter to be as maintenance free and simple to operate as possible. This unit will be a useful addition to your helicopter flight operation.
As with any new equipment, a necessary period of orientation should be observed. ®To maximize the use and safety of the Heliporter , we recommend that the operator
practice the operations without the aircraft aboard; then when proficiency is achieved, begin practicing with the aircraft in transport in unconfined areas.

®Heliporter
Operation
1. Applying pressure to the motion control levers (see Fig. 1) allows for forward and reverse maneuvering. Using these levers in opposite directions allows for steering.
2. Observe that the lifting platform is in a full “Down” position before ® maneuvering the Heliporter under the aircraft.
®3. Guide the Heliporter between the skid gear using the motion control levers to ®turn left and to turn right (see Fig. 1). Maneuver the Heliporter under the
aircraft from front to rear.
Caution: Observe the aircraft belly area to avoid contacting antennas, lights, ®etc. with the Heliporter while maneuvering under the helicopter.
Note: The motion control levers are preloaded toward the “Off” position, ®therefore the Heliporter will stop automatically when pressure is released.
4. Raise the lifting platform slowly by using the lift/lower toggle switch on the ®platform hand controller until the Heliporter lift pads make contact with the
aircraft pickup points. Release the platform control toggle.
5. With proper alignment achieved apply pressure again to the platform lift/lower toggle on the hand controller and raise the platform.
6. When the desired height is achieved, release the platform lift/lower toggle switch. With controls released, the aircraft will remain in the desired position.
7. The motion control levers for steering and forward/reverse also control the movement speed. The speed is determined by the distance the levers are moved forward or aft of the center position. A small distance from center
® will move the Heliporter slowly and full movement will move the ®Heliporter at full speed.

®Heliporter
Operation
Caution: When engaging the hydrostatic drive, move the control levers slowly to allow for smooth gradual operations.
8. To move a helicopter while being supported on the lifting platform, simply move both motion control levers forward togther or rearward togther for straight movements. Using the motion control levers in opposite directions or at different positions in same direction will allow for steering (see Fig. 1).
9. If during transport of aircraft it becomes necessary to emergency brake the ® ®Heliporter , release of the motion control levers will bring the Heliporter to
an immediate stop.
Caution: Making abrupt stops could cause damage to the aircraft. Also, an electric brake has been provided to assist braking on steep inclines. Sliding the electric brake control lever to the left will apply the brake.
10. To park the aircraft, release of the motion control levers will maintain position by hydrostatic braking.
Note: Never leave the unit unattended while a helicopter is raised off the ground.
11. When the desired location of the aircraft is achieved, slowly release the motion controls levers and stop the unit, slowly lower the platform using the lift/lower toggle until the aircraft is solidly resting on the ground, then continue the platform descent until it is in the full “Down “ position.

®Heliporter
Operation
®12. To remove the Heliporter from under the aircraft, carefully guide the ®Heliporter away from aircraft using the motion control levers.
®CAUTION: Never take off or land over the Heliporter .
NOTE: The valve shown can be adjusted by slightly turning the knob in either ® direction to increase or decrease the lowering characteristics of the Heliporter
with a load.

Service Instructions
Recommended Lubricants and Service Terms
Grease: Quality lithium-based automotive-type grease
Battery Fluids: Distilled water
®Hydraulic Fluid: 10W30 Motor Oil for Heliporter , See Tractor manual for Drive Tractor.
Service Points: (See Figs. 5, 6, and 7)
1. Check the battery fluid levels monthly. Fill to proper levels if low. (Fig. 5)
2. Check the hydraulic fluid level monthly. Fill to 1/2 of reservoir capacity with the platform in full “down” position. (Fig. 6)
3. If stored outdoors, avoid leaving the unit exposed to extreme adverse conditions.
Caution: Never operate the unit while covered.
4. Maintain tire pressure to the tire manufacture's recommendation. Refer to Drive Tractor Manual.
5. Inspect tires, hoses, couplings, cables, and electrical wires for serviceable condition before each use.
6. Recharge battery with integrated 12 VDC battery charger.
7. Check all hardware at attachment points for security before each use.
8. Grease all zerks, a minimum of twice yearly. The wheel bearings should be greased more often, as usage and environmental conditions dictate. (Fig. 7)
9. Replace the rubber pads at lift contact points as necessary.

Cold Weather Operation
® Heliporter hydraulic systems are serviced with 10W30 Motor Oil.
In extreme cold weather environments, the operator may choose to utilize a ®standard brand hydraulic fluid to improve performance of the Heliporter when
cold weather may be affecting the viscosity of the motor oil. If the operator desires this choice, perform the following:
1. Completely drain and flush the hydraulic system of oil.
2. Refill the hydraulic reservoir approximately half-full with hydraulic fluid.
3. Follow the Service Instructions as published.
NOTE: Follow the Tractor manual for fluid recommendations and service on the drive tractor unit.
