THE AWARD WINNING RANGE“OUTSTANDING COLOUR PRINTER / MFP LINE OF THE YEAR”

“…. the industry’s most exhaustive third party durability testing…. Most impressive, then, is that the 11 colour HP devices tested since 2011 ran a cumulative sum of 448,000 pages with no misfeeds or malfunctions, and none of them required service. This flawless reliability performance is a real testament to the quality and dependability of HP products.”

Native HP Autonomy Worksite Integration

All HP devices are written with a system entitled HP Open Extensibility Platform (OXP). This allows system developers to write applications (apps) for the MFP, print and scan devices in the HP portfolio, just like apps for a smart phone.

Apps are typically written to integrate other systems or processes to HP products, and are often referred to as “Embedded” or “Native” integrations. Specially written native software developed by HP Autonomy is available for HP MFPs that allows users bi-directional access to WorkSite Accounts on the MFP without the cost of any third party software.

Following log-on users can navigate and search WorkSite folders with the large MFP touch screen, preview documents stored in WorkSite, and forward /print them, or index and scan documents directly into WorkSite. Scan reservations can also be set via desktop/mobile WorkSite sessions that will be available at the MFP for quick processing of documents when scanning.

Print enablement of Mobile DevicesIn the development of Blackberry RIM, Apple iOS and Google Android a print sub system was not included. Therefore users of these mobiles devices do not have print capability as standard. With the introduction of an HP ePrint Enterprise Server and the client app from the relevant marketplace, secure Corporate printing is provisioned. This solution works in conjunction with secure pull printing where deployed, allowing a mobile user to print their documents from any device, any time, sending then simply authenticating when collecting.

Award-winning1 HP Next Generation Document Handling Technology

HP has introduced new “Flow” MFPs into its portfolio, designed to make it easier and faster for the busiest,

most “technically challenged” and “big-fingered” people. Cash-machine-like paper handling is delivered with the professional feeder, allowing up to 200 pages of varying sizes and shapes to be stacked and have both sides simultaneously scanned, while “HP Everypage” uses ultrasonic waves to prevent double feeding (just like ATMs).

With the award-winning HP “Easy Select” 8 inch programmable touch screen, and the full, pull out keyboard, navigating even the most sophisticated of jobs becomes a breeze. Documents are cleaned up, auto rotated, de-skewed, enhanced, cropped to the correct size and can even be converted into readable format for search and use with in-built OCR (Optical Character Recognition).

As standard, all new technology devices such as MFPs (copiers), SFPs (printers) and scanners, include a Hardware Integration Pocket (HIP) – used for card readers that integrate with cost recovery and secure pull printing systems.

Native Integration with...

HP MFPs can be natively integrated with most LAN Fax systems on the market (including Opentext Fax Server (RightFAX), Omtool Genifax / Accuroute, Equisys Zetafax, etc.). The native embedded integration allows HP MFPs to scan documents to be faxed via the LAN Fax system. Integration options can include coversheet selection, billing code look-ups, phonebook access, and user authentication.

Leading LAN Fax / Internet Fax Solutions

Microsoft SharePoint

The next generation of HP “Flow” MFPs provides, as standard, a sophisticated bi-directional embedded integration with Microsoft SharePoint. This works in conjunction with Active Directory user permissions associated with user authentication at the MFP device to deliver rights to the relevant client folders in SharePoint for that user. The user scan and index documents to SharePoint locations, and utilise the image enhancement capabilities such as making the documents searchable, or convert to other native formats such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and a raft of other types.

RTF

Embedded integration withNuance eCopy ShareScanAll HP MFPs running OXP 1.6 or later are compatible with the HP edition of eCopy ShareScan v5.1

This provides the rich interface of eCopy, and access to all the connectors available for eCopy to other Content Management, Document Processing and Extender solutions from the extensive and comprehensive Nuance, and 3rd party eCopy catalogue. By using HP Flow MFP the experience is extended further with the availability of the full sized, pull out keyboard.

Securing your data, systems and users“It’s not often that a completely new class of document imaging solution comes along, yet this is precisely what HP has created with its Imaging & Printing Security Center. HP IPSC is the industry’s first policy-based imaging and printing complicance solution and was designed to tackle the thorny issues surrounding device security such as unauthorised access, changes to device settings, network security and more. In fact, its unique functionality earned it an “Outstanding Achievement” honor in BLI’s Winter 2013 awards season.”

The modern MFP/MFD is a networked document server. It includes a hard drive, network connection with Active Directory support and user log on. It interfaces with your email system, your document management system, your file servers, print servers, the internet, and delivers multi tasking processing. Like any networked device, it requires security policy deployment – long gone are the days when it can be thought of as a copier that is networked. When the device reaches the end of its life span, there is no guarentee that its hard drives will be removed or erased.

When a document is scanned, printed, copied, faxed, its image data is written to the hard drive – and can remain there without anyone knowing. There are approximately 80 security “holes” in the modern MFP – from “Man in the middle” attacks, Denial of Service attacks, repudiation, phishing attacks, data theft, bridging and hacking into network systems, virus upload / deployment, or plain and simple collection or reading of sensitive printed material, these devices need an ever-enforced security policy.

The HP Security Centre is a policy based solution that helps you to increase security, strengthen compliance and reduce risk across your imaging and printing fleet. It provides an assessment of current security by simple one-click assessment, and delivers a range of recommended and best policy security settings to lock-down risk. Once deployed, it permanently applies the policies, looks for new devices and automatically enforces compliance settings.

management tools

Fleet management, configuration, security enforcement, environmental

policies, default settings, error reporting, consumables management, automated

device set up, configuration, firmware upgrading and more is facilitated by the

web based tool and rated as the finest on the market.

“HP Web Jetadmin remains at the front of the pack among device management platforms thanks to its wide-ranging compatibility, advanced management capabilities, robust alerting functions and complete reporting features….

Administrators and help desk employees can then use the software to monitor device status in real time (including consumables levels and error conditions), examine and control device usage, automate the sending of email messages regarding device status to the proper personnel, push new configuration settings to devices, produce reports and much more.”

(BLI Solutions Report – overall rating 44.5 from 45).

1. Hewlett-Packard Sweeps Five Colour Printer “Pick” CategoriesTaking BLI “Pick” awards for personal and inkjet devices, as well as in small and mid-size workgroup categories, five A4 HP colour printers and MFPs were chosen for their ease of use and productivity-enhancing features. “HP has always been a leader when it comes to colour products and the models tested this year are no exception,” said BLI Senior Analyst for A4 MFPs and Printers Marlene Orr. “HP has brought higher-level functionality—full-colour touchscreens, ePrint, Web apps and software integration—to lower-priced devices to meet the changing needs of all levels of business users.”

2. HP Web Jetadmin Still Tops in Device ManagementIn 1996, HP essentially created the printer device management category with its original Jetadmin utility. Now ten generations later, HP Web Jetadmin 10.3 is still the standard bearer in the class and has been named a BLI Summer 2012 “Pick” winner as “Outstanding Network Device Management Solution.” Web Jetadmin aims to give a global perspective on the quantity and capabilities of a company’s printing and imaging devices and addresses five key areas for administrators: fleet deployment, problem resolution, proactive management, device security and reporting optimization.
