Howard LevyÕs =Acoustic Express= a young player whom he knew would make things even more musically...

1
Grammy-winner Howard Levy formed Acoustic Express in 2003 to celebrate his love of playing swing music acoustically on harmonica. After many years of touring and recording with some of the top artists in jazz, pop, classical and world music (to name a few: Steve Goodman and John Prine in the late 70s, Paquito D’Rivera in the early 80s, Béla Fleck & the Flecktones, Kenny Loggins and Paul Simon in the 90s), he gathered some musician friends he admired, respected and had a long history with: bassist Larry Kohut and guitarist Pat Fleming. Larry also recommended a young player whom he knew would make things even more musically interesting, guitarist Chris Siebold. Acoustic Express was born - an open-ended group that could play Swing, Jazz, Blues, Bulgarian music, Brasilian music, Bob Dylan and Beatles tunes, and originals too. After playing numerous gigs at Howard’s favorite coffee shop, Café Express in Evanston, Illinois, they decided to capture the magic created in a live setting. Their CD Time Capsules is a collection of recordings of some of their performances at the beloved (now defunct) Café Express, Larry’s living room and North Center Church, also in Evanston. Acoustic Express has performed at numerous clubs, festivals and venues in the US, both large and intimate.
